What happened to the hand cleaners that were so full of pumice and chemicals that they almost hurt to use?
I even bought a bar of lava soap and it was only nominally rougher than my Safeguard and Irish Spring.
I work in dirt and grease and brother, until you've encountered Kopr Kote (http://www.jetlubecanada.com/pages/kopr-kote.html) and oil based paint and 3 kinds of mud in the same afternoon, you don't know hard to wash off.

I work with some stuff that I have to use lacquer thinner or Brakleen and some Zep brand of handcleaner.

See if you can find a place that will ship you some of this stuff : Solvol (http://www.wd40.com.au/solvol/index.php)

Zep industrial at Advanced Auto Parts. When I get into the muck nitrile gloves come out or it takes a week off for my hands to get clean.
-
What about GOJO? Thats what we use.

Amen. I started using gloves for the really dirty jobs.
Other than that, it's GOJO and Softsoap.

Grime Boss (http://www.grimeboss.com/) works quite well.
-
Rubbing your palms with something should work.

If I needed spotless hands after working in black diesel motor oil, I washed my hands in diesel fuel, then used GO-JO, followed by BORAXO(?) powdered hand cleaner and a scrub brush.....finally just plain soap and some more of the brush.
That even got out last weeks black that was still in the cracks.

When I was i the USAF, I used JP-4 to get the worst of the grime off followed up with lava soap and a stiff brush.

A Scotch-Brite pad with any hand cleaner works pretty well, too.
-
In a pinch, WD-40 may help. ERs use it to take off tar, and I've used it sucessfully on things like oil and paint.
-
GoJo &/or Don Maximo bar soap (available via the web or your local Mexican market). Between those & a scotch-brite pad, the green one, I can get every lick of dirt & grease off of my hands.

That's downright against the "man code"......

Yeppers . If diesel fuel & Go-Jo and the occasional bar of Lava don't clean the grime off then oh well it's just going to have to wear off.

+1 on Zep, especially Zep Cherry Bomb. Cleans anything and leaves you smelling great :cheersmate:
Just remember, not to allow it near small children or animals.... Which is likely why you can't find it at non-specialty stores.
