about waiting to push back if somebody pushes you.
Trump believes the window of opportunity for pushing-back is immediate. Barr believes the window of opportunity for push-back is 'better' when it opens 'later'. But those days were over when the MSM chose sides against the American people.
That's the nexus of their tiff.
Other than that he defends DJT's policies all the way.

It's a nuance certainly more refined than mine, which is simply that Barr has been, and will always remain, loyal first and foremost to the DOJ and to the Deep State. As a professional bureaucrat lawyer, that's where it lies. :whistling:

Maybe. We'll see what the book-tour interviews end-up revealing. He and Trump agreed they were going to clash on that point, kneejerk reactions to the press, before Trump hired him for AG.
Had Trump won in 2020, Barr would've been shown the door. No illusions about that.

Fully concur about Barr and the door. Of course, that is one of Trump's weaknesses -- he can't seem to find bureaucrats who abhor and shun the Deep State and that's why he got Comey, and Barr, and Wray, and the whole cast of cretins.

Luckily, they brought in a warhorse like Kellyanne Conway early. But she couldn't be everywhere, doing everything. And Rance Priebus was one of those employees who needed to be supervised every minute. That's how most of the frustrated holdovercrats got in.
-
True enough about Conway; it's too bad her family issues kept her from engaging more than she was able to.
Back to Trump's "hiring" practices. He listened to the fawning, obsequious asskisser General Milley, wallowed in Milley's adoring worship of Trump (all of which was complete BS) and installed him as Chairman of the JCS.
An absolutely monumental error in judgment.
If Trump gets the nomination, he absolutely must be ruthless in shitcanning these professional asskissers right at the start and install those who, if they can't or don't want to do the job like the President directs, like John Kelly and Jim Mattis, simply should resign. That's what honorable people do. Instead, they badmouth (especially Kelly) and actively work against him.

Couldn't agree more, Eupher.
Barr is a fixxer who got his job through subterfuge, right in public.
