Speier: ‘We’re Going to Pass Build Back Better Tonight’ — ‘You Can Take It To The Bank’

Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) said Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Your World” that the House will pass President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better legislation later that evening.

Speier said, “Let’s be clear, this is transformational for the average American family. For the families now that are not — the women that are not going back to work, 1.7 million of them that have decided that they can’t go back to work because they don’t have child care, the lowest participation of women in the workforce since 1988. The child care component makes sure that 20 million more kids will have child care. For those making under 250% of the median state income, they’re not going to pay more than 7% of their income for child care. For those making 75% of the median income aren’t going to be paying anything. they’re going to get free child care.”

Don't bother coming "home" if you give BuildBackBroke your vote, Republicans. Just hole up in that festering shithole on the Potomac like the craven, snivelling bastards you are...

I expected the House to pass BBB since the Dems have the votes. The problem is the Senate where they don’t. If the Senate comes up with their bill which satisfies Manchin and Sinema, then it goes back to the House to see if the radical Dems will accept it. So we’ll see. Chances are either way the progs will claim they got screwed.

I’m surprised the Dems want to raise the SALT tax cap from $10K to $80K. The leftists have been crying about those who don’t pay their fair share, but doing this will have those who make $200K and more paying less to the US Treasury, or as Dems usually put it “less than their fair share”. The primitives should be giving us thread after thread condemning this part of the BBB, but they haven’t. Almost makes you wonder if they’re hypocrites.

Notice how Democrats said the Trump Tax cuts benefited the rich, but the first thing that they reverse is the part that actually made the rich pay their fair share. This helps no one but rich people in high tax Democrat run states.

And while I was asleep:

McCarthy slams Biden spending bill in marathon floor speech, delaying vote

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., spoke for over eight hours on the floor Thursday night and into Friday morning ahead of a crucial House vote, making his final case against the President Biden social spending bill that Republicans say will cause long-term damage to the U.S. economy.

In his scathing floor speech, McCarthy described the legislation as the "single most reckless and irresponsible spending bill in our nation’s history." He criticized nearly every proposal included in the $1.75 trillion package, dubbed the "Build Back Better Act," as well as the Biden administration's broader policies. The tactic effectively stalled a long-delayed final vote on the Democrat-backed legislation, with McCarthy stopping and starting on several occasions amid murmurs in the chamber.

McCarthy said Democratic lawmakers were "out of touch" with the needs and wishes of ordinary Americans. Republicans universally oppose the legislation, which they denounce as a fiscally irresponsible initiative that will exacerbate the inflation crisis, damage the long-term economy, and introduce to large a degree of socialism.

"Never in American history has so much been spent at one time," McCarthy said. "Never in American history will so many taxes be raised and so much borrowing be needed to pay for all this reckless spending."

And that attention whore AOC had to get involved:

AOC allegedly interrupts McCarthy to say she voted for Biden to be a new FDR

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., allegedly claimed that she voted for President Biden in order to make him a transformational president like Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

"Just a few weeks ago, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger said, ‘Nobody elected Joe Biden to be FDR,’" House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said in a blustering speech against Biden's Build Back Better legislation on Thursday.

Right at that moment, a female voice shouted out, "I did."
