Who is This "Patriotic American?"
« on: January 01, 2008, 02:35:30 PM »
I am  man of many names, many dreams, and many pairs of socks.

I absolutely detest liberalism. It is a scourge; its adherents, a cancer to the body politic. In other words, libs are dead to me.

As far as my positions: I am a Christian, and damned proud of it. As I am proud to be an American. This is the greatest nation on Earth, and I want it to remain so.

I believe in The Constitution, and in preserving it. It is not a living document that is outmoded and in need of a drastic overhaul. To the contrary, the wisdom of our Founding Fathers is reflected in what is still a relevant governing document whose principles I agree with 1000%.

If I wereN'T too old, I'd enlist. I never served, and wish I had. I was too selfish and stupid when I was younger to do so. Now, all I can do is serve as an example to my children of what a proud responsible citizen of this great nation looks like.

I've never done an Intro thread before. So, this is about all I can think to post about myself.

Howdy.

I think that the Army upped their maximum enlistment age to 42.

I want to go "Hoo-wah!" Or is that "Hoo-rah?"

So, I'm holding out for the Marines.  :naughty:

My step-father was a Gunnery Staff Sgt in Nam. If I were to have gone into the Military, it would've been in the Marines.

I think you mean a Gunnery Sergeant (E-7). A Staff is an E-6.  :cheersmate:

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

So why be so shy, man.  Tell us a little something about yourself.   :-)
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

John C Calhoun, "Disquisition on Government", 1840

I will take your word for it. My mom and step-father separated twenty years ago, and sadly, he's passed on. I didn't appreciate him as much as I should have. He was a good man.
