FBF: He is the dumbest President in history. (Meme picture)
Pete: I see you didn't actually listen to the speech. Because Trump said nothing about George Washington in relationship to any airport.
FBF: “Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over airports, it did everything it had to do,” Trump said in his remarks at the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday. “And at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, had nothing but victory. When dawn came, the star-spangled banner waved defiant.”
Pete: 1. As your own quote proves, Trump was speaking of the Army, not Washington. 2. Trump was changing context from the Revolution - he had just spoken of Yorktown, the last major battle - to a broad sweep of the US Army's actions. 3. In the video of the speech from Politico, the word your source quoted as "air" is muffled and sounds like "effort". That said, what is now the USAF was originally (and through WW2) the Army Air Corps, and to this day the US Army operates helicopters - it "manned the air ... it did everything it had to do". 4. Trumps speech was about half an hour long, and you're focused on one sentence. How much of the speech did you actually listen to? Any at all? Or are you just relying on a less than reliable source like RawStory?
FBF: Pete no this was from the Washington Post this morning. All major news is quoting the same. Quit making excuses for the moron. He cant give a cohesive speech if his life depended on it. He is beyond stupid.
FBF: Pete ______ and that is the last comment I am making today to you on this subject.
Pete: So you have not actually listened to the speech. I'm not surprised. I have, and it was quite coherent. Had you actually listened to it - and the WashPost is not reliable, sadly - you would know this. You would also have noted that it was very carefully timed in coordination with multiple events within the speech. You would also have noted that Trump was focused, did not use a teleprompter, and may not have had notes (or referred to them infrequently and imperceptibly). You might even have noted that Trump almost never used first-person singular pronouns; he did not refer to himself or his administration.
Pete: Actually it was 47 minutes long, my oops.
"FBF" is an acronym of "Face Book Friend", and is not even close the initials of the person. I simply copied-and-pasted the text of each post, so any typos, missing words, and malaprops are what they are in the conversation.
