What is McCains stance on immigration? Has it changed since he picked Palin?

People, we have to keep our eye on the ball here. There is no bigger or more important issue to keep on the forefront. The economy, terrorism, gas prices...they all pale in comparison to the horrific damage being done to our great country by open borders. And John McCain supports open borders every bit as much as Bush does. PLEASE dont forget that.

So I have two choices....and I should punish McCain by voting for that absolutely horrible Marxist pig-person just because McCain may not be what I want on immigration?  I think not.

It's too late now to worry about illegal immigration in this election season.  McCain may not be perfect on an issue or two, but we KNOW the other guy is poison to America on EVERY issue.

Yeah, you stick by your principles.  I'll stick with the best chance I have of getting three more Supreme Court justices who respect the design of this nation.

I have a chance with McCain.  I have NO CHANCE with Dumbo Ears.  See you at the polls.
I've always seen it as a choice between deadly poison and slightly less deadly poison.

By all means, vote for Juan in the fall if that is okay with you but hold his feet to the fire.  Demand things from him.  Don't just say, "oh he's been a solid Republican for six weeks, he must have learned his lesson."

I say, "Good job the last six weeks Juan, and the Palin selection is truly inspired.  But I expect more more."

While he has done a fantastic job for nearly seven weeks, it doesn't erase years and years treachery.  And years.  Way before 2000 he was an treacherous idiot.

And who the heck are you voting for, given that indeed you vote?

Did you vote for Bush? If so how do you feel about that vote now? I voted fo him, twice! And I am embarassed and ashamed that I did. Would Kerry have been worse? Of course! But just saying "My guy sucks slightly less than your guy sucks" isnt good enough to earn my vote. And damnit those scumbags in DC never will get the message if we keep giving away our votes due to fear.

How noble.  I take it you don't vote?  That may be a good thing.

Like it or not, dude, you are living in a crossroad.  There are two, possible three, Supreme Court justices who have been trying to outlive this Bush administration and have no chance of waiting out the next administration.

I have watched you make some rather unusual decisions, reflected on various boards, but your support of Barak Obama, by withholding support for John McCain, is more than I can understand from a man of your life experience.

I refuse to buy into your short sighted view that not voting for McCain is a vote for Obama. Thats the sort of lazy thinking we see at DU Pops. I expect better from you.

If I thought we had half a chance of holding McCains feet to the fire to make the right decisions I would vote for him in a second. I am so gun shy from the way Bush has betrayed us that I am not so willing to take a chance again.

Yes this picking of Palin is a very positive thing. But is it enuff?

Most definitely, I was going to vote for McCain, but now I can do it without reservation and qualm. :-)

That being said, I look at Palin's beautiful family and the ugliness that is liberalism and I pray those children will hold their heads high and stare down any asshat who comes after their mother or God forbid their little brother. Unfortunately I can see it right now, they will gun for the baby... despicable and disgusting worthless bags of water.

That makes sense only if you intend to vote for some third party.  Of course, you do have the reality of the electoral vote to cushion your self-righteous decisions.

I do not think, especially now, that you are the arbitrator or decider of who has "lazy thinking".  Your lackluster judgement on certain issues has been well documented elsewhere.

I will not respond to you on this issue anymore.  I am disappointed and somewhat surprised, but I still care about you as a poster.  You have other things to offer here, but you seem to be very blind to this important issue.

hey.... you must know by now that you won't agree on every issue with any candidate. I hope we can trust McCain on his nomination of SC justices, I know we can trust McCain on foreign policy, and I pray he will get his act together on domestic issues.

I'm gonna call BS on that one.  You don't have to live on the border to understand the massive problems that the influx of illegal immigrants is causing this country.

WTF does that mean?

I have lived in this same house for 23 years. My children all grew up here. They all went to the same schools. When we first moved in it was a very nice middle class neighborhood. I was proud to have friends and family over. Today I have to stop and pick up the trash my neighbors throw from their house and cars into the street and my yard. Every single day I pick their trash up out of my yard. They speak no english so trying to explain it to them is useless. This is not the first time i have been thru this. it is not the 5th or 10th time either.

Their yard looks like what you would see in Tijuana. If you walk up and down my street it is like a cancer growing everywhere.

You people that live up north just do not get it.

I guess this cancer will have to be next door to you before you really understand. But guess what...by then it is too damned late.

You're making a lot of assumptions there.

That's messed up thinking and I think you are smart enough to realize that. It surely doesn't take me living among a whole pile of them to recognize the economic drain to our health system, education, legal.... you name it.

Please think about it. How can you really get it if you are not neck deep in it every day??? This is what really pisses me off about McCain. His own state is being devastated by illegal immigration and he is still at the border with open arms for those criminals. I was in Arizona last weekend. i saw it first hand!!!

Let me ask you this...how many hundreds of illegals do you have at every hardware store in your city? Pissing in the streets, Shitting in the bushes. Harassing our children on their way to school. I see this every day.

Who have you seen here defending illegal immigration?

It doesn't matter how far you personally live from the border.  To state that those that don't live in your neighborhood "don't get it" is patently untrue.  We may not see it as up close and personal as you do, but to claim that we "don't get it" is rather insulting to our intelligence.

I was one of those calling McCain's office and writing letters to him expressing my anger over his attempt at amnesty granting.  So don't tell me I don't get it.

DH, I have to ask, are you reporting the violations of which you speak? Are there code enforcement people that are laying down on the job?

Are there likeminded neighbors who can join you in cleaning up the place via government pressure? Can you sue? (the violators or the government)
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

What it really all comes down to is that you can only pump so much poison into a body before it starts to die. A healthy immune system cando a lot. But eventually it will be overwhelmed. Our state is 15 billion in debt. Our infrastructure is crumbling. Our police are not allowed to even ask the immigration status of criminals. We have criminals protesting in the street calling us racists. California is dying. I dont want to see the same happen elsewhere. These bastards like Bush and McCain are selling us and our children out for cheap labor. Ill gladly pay $5 a head for lettuce if it means I dont have to pick the neighbors trash up from my yard every damned nite when I get home from work.

If I thought we had half a chance of holding McCains feet to the fire to make the right decisions I would vote for him in a second. I am so gun shy from the way Bush has betrayed us that I am not so willing to take a chance again.

Yes this picking of Palin is a very positive thing. But is it enuff?

hey.... you must know by now that you won't agree on every issue with any candidate. I hope we can trust McCain on his nomination of SC justices, I know we can trust McCain on foreign policy, and I pray he will get his act together on domestic issues.

You live too far from our southern border to really get it. Eventually the mexican invasion will be in your own neighborhood and then you will.

I don't have to personally experience something to know it is immoral.... see, that's what having moral absolutes does for a person.

We had an illegal slam into a school bus and killed 4 kids in Cottonwood, MN last spring. It was heartbreaking and yet I would have the same feeling about illegal immigration if that or similar events in MN never happened. Minnesota nice brings us sanctuary cities such as Minneapolis and St. Paul.... I am PISSED.

I know that you are flooded in your town 100 mis north of the border. I don't think they have introduced any meaningful legislation to combat illegal immigration. The only way to combat it is starve them out.... no jobs, no illegals.

DH, I have to ask, are you reporting the violations of which you speak? Are there code enforcement people that are laying down on the job?

Are there likeminded neighbors who can join you in cleaning up the place via government pressure? Can you sue? (the violators or the government)

If we say a thing we are shouted down as racists. That happenes to me on a very regular basis. When i ask how a legal descriptor such as the term 'illegal' can be racial I get no answer.

Cops are not even allowed to ask the immigration status of criminals here.

The last family next door was also illegals. They had a half dozen pit bulls. The mail man refused to deliver because the pit bulls would try to jump over the chain link fence at him. So they put a mailbox in the corner of MY yard without even asking. Now when I pick up the trash every nite I stuff it in their mailbox. :-)

BULLSHIT!

Isnt it the libs that yell and scream like that to avoid facing an issue? Just saying....

You have an intellectually dishonest argument.....

how so?

By asserting that I need to live near the border to get it.
