Quote
John Parsons Wheeler 3d, a Vietnam veteran officer who served in three GOP Presidential administrations, and who chaired the committee that raised funds from businesses, agencies and prominent Americans to get the Vietnam Veterans Memorial built on the Washington Mall, was found dead in a landfill a few miles from his New Castle Delaware home this weekend. Newark Del. police say this is a homicide.

Yikes!

Wow. The article said he quarreled with neighbors. I wonder if some of those neighbors are under suspicion?

You mean like, "The VRWC tying up loose ends"?

A man who fought to get the Vietnam Veterans Memorial built and served in two Bush administrations was murdered, Delaware police say.
John P. Wheeler III, 66, was found dead in a Delaware landfill, and his death has been ruled a homicide by Newark, Del., police. They are asking the public for leads in the case.

Wheeler’s body was found in Wilmington on Friday after a disposal truck containing his body made pickups in Newark.

Wheeler, who lived in New Castle, was chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund during the Ronald Reagan era. He also held many high-profile government positions after graduating from West Point in 1966.

He was an experienced business turnaround consultant.

Police believe Wheeler's body had been placed inside one of the bins in Newark before a disposal truck arrived.

The Newark Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding Wheeler to contact them at 1-800-TIP-3333.

I was thinking of BFEE tying up loose ends.

wow. Found in a landfill. Ruled as a homicide. That's some great police work there...  :-)

God alone suffices.

Well, at least he wasn't found in Ft. Marcy Park with a double tap to the back of the head.  Sure and certain suicide if that'd been the case.  :fuelfire:

Only if they're Republicans.  We all know Dims are entirely above reproach or suspicion. :p

Prayers for the family for healing and closure (I kind of hate that word but sometimes it fits).  Hope the police catch the bastard that murdered this poor guy.
