bif (16,103 posts) Fri Jun 6, 2014, 01:53 PM1. Home alone weekend! My wife and daughters took off for a gal's weekend. So I'm on my own. So I plan on eating the junk food we normally don't ever eat. Chips and dip. Plenty of beer. Shrimp Tempura from Trader Joe's. And probably a late snack of cheese melted over Trisquits. Tomorrow I'll eat healthier.

ChineseI'm making Chinese tonight: --stir-fry vegetables (baby bok choy, carrots, etc.) --tri-tip, marinated in teriyaki sauce --potstickers (chicken & cilantro, from Trader Joe's) I really want some noodles, but I've been gardening all day and know I will not be ambitious enough to make that, too.

Hot dogs and bean sprouts in a tortilla. I don't know what to say.
Fizzgig, on Sat., was going to make a sweet potato and chickpea curry.
Hold the phone. I loathe sweet potatoes, I hate chickpeas, and I detest curries. Did she ever make it? It must have looked like something out of NJCher's kitchen. What utter disgusting slop!
The resulting glop was an inspiration for her to open a Greek restaurant.
Anyone have a diagnoses to explain why they feel the need to impress with their food choices?
Maybe this is one of those dishes she calls a gut bomb.
A gut bomb recipe would be as follows:Take a handful of Doritos and toss onto a plateScoop a can of Hormel corned beef hash on topTop with Velveeta cheese, cubedSprinkle with M&M'sMicrowave, and enjoy!
It was supposed to be a joke, till you all got all seriousy with it.
You forgot to mention salt and pepper. It really does make a difference.
