Title: Hmmm... What to prep for short term Breakfast.
Post by: Mr Mannn on October 15, 2021, 01:17:58 PM
I'm not talking freeze dried food here. I'm looking for three months to cover a shortage economy.
Beef is looking to be a luxury item price wise.
Chicken may never be cheap again.

I'm thinking dry goods like oatmeal or grits. But three months of that is boring.
What is in your panty?

I haven't tried this yet but am planning to do so soon.

Mexican Style Machaca Eggs

The machaca (dried beef) can be made from beef jerky:

Beef jerky can be for at least 2 years in vacuum sealed bags.  Also, powdered eggs can be stored for years in vacuum sealed bags.

I find oatmeal a little more palatable if made with dried fruit, raisins, figs etc.

I like walnuts and a tablespoon or so of REAL maple syrup with my oatmeal. None of that Aunt Jemima crap.
