Have you tried it and what do you think of it?

I downloaded it 2 min after it was available and have been using it on my home desktop and laptop for work both. So far I am quite impressed. It is still beta but is smoother and more stable than any new release I have ever seen of Firefox or Internet Explorer.

One way cool thing is that each tab is a completely seperate process so it is impossible for a single tab getting locked up and affecting the other tabs. It is interesting that you can open the task manager and each tab in Chrome shows up as a seperate process. Plus they also 'sandbox' each tab to have completely seperate security processes.

I dont like that there isnt much in the way of configuration for tabbed browsing but I assume it will be added later. Or maybe no as minimalism is sposed to be a key factor in the development of Chrome. KISS = keep it simple stupid!

It has an 'Incognito' mode which is already being called the 'Porn Mode' or 'Pr0n M0de' by the uber geeks. No cookies, no history, nothing on your comp to indicate where you hase been browsing. I tried (very briefly) the early beta for Internet Explorer 8 and it also has a porn mode which was quite surprising coming from MS. I used it for a couple of hours but the only way it would work on the Gmail site was in Internet Explorer 7 emulation mode...and then whats the point?

The big stalking horse issue about Chrome is that Google doesnt intend it as merely a browser, oh no, it is a front end for online app hosting. In the not so distant future, if Google has its way, Chrome wont be your browser, nope, it will be the entire operating system and everything you do is online. At a Google site of course.

I had tried it briefly , then uninstalled it because of the security issues, and the EULA.  They've amended the EULA, but I haven't checked on the security problem lately.   I did like it, because pages loaded much faster than IE, or Firefox.

Ive used it for eBay and my personal banking. I haven't done any flying since Chrome came out last week so no, I haven't booked flights, made reservations or printed boarding passes. I did pay credit card bills and buy some new Mercedes Benz center caps for the wheels of my SLK on eBay though...does that count?

Welllll, Google didn't get to be (almost) as big as Microsoft by giving away money so I wouldn't hold my breath on being paid....but it is a free new browser that is screaming fast and more stable than MSIE and Firefox....well, at least in my experience so far it is. I used Firefox for a long time and think its real weak point is the thing people love most...too damned many plugins that clash and cause problems. Thats why I went back to MSIE after they finally adopted tabbed browsing.

Welllll, Google didn't get to be (almost) as big as Microsoft by giving away money so I wouldn't hold my breath on being paid....but it is a free new browser that is screaming fast and more stable than MSIE and Firefox....well, at least in my experience so far it is. I used Firefox for a long time and think its real weak point is the thing people love most...too damned many plugins that clash and cause problems. Thats why I went back to MSIE after they finally adopted tabbed browsing.

I'm trying it out as we speak. So far, it loads a HELL of a lot quicker than IE or Firefox. That's a plus. No crashes, yet. The shortcuts for the forums ACTUALLY work. Firefox's used to but quit on one of their upgrades.

It is having a Viagra effect!!!!  Even while it is downloading!!!!  And my whites are whiter and my brights are brighter!!!  And I can jump higher and run faster!!!!

The only thing I have seen so far that Chrome doesnt work on is MS stuff that uses proprietary active x controls like for terminal server webs etc. I tried the MSIE 8 beta briefly but it only worked for Gmail in MSIE 7 emulation mode, sheesh.

I like that chrome opens new tabs adjacent to the current tab.  if I see something interesting, I may spin off three or four quick tabs trying to track stuff down.  Governor Palin and the bridge she killed is a good example.  not knowing much about it, every story I read concerning the bridge to nowhere caused me to want to follow every link in the story, and spin off several google searches.  with firefox, the new tabs are opened at the end of your other tabs, which is a pain if you already had 15 tabs open, and you were in tab 2 or 3 when you spun off the new tabs.

I understand they are going at it with a minimalist approach but they still need to give power users the ability to customize it to their preferences. Higher security and stability are already winning me over. If they will just give me some control over tabbed browsing I will be a happy camper.

that may be a feature in FF3.0, but I stopped at 2.0.0.16.  although it took a minute to figure out what all those graphics were on pages that I had never seen graphics on before.  they turned out to be ads, and I hadn't seen them in a couple of years because I run the adblock extension on FF.

Toss all of your other "male enhancement" products and subscriptions away. This stuff really works!

I'm using it again since they have apparently fixed those issues.  I just wish they had a google tool bar.    There are times I want to seach for news , blogs or a subcategory.. Now you have to do a general search to get to the results page, then narrow it down from there.

I have Google as my start page and have added a dozen or so 'gadgets' and news feeds to it for news and assorted searches. I use their 'iGoogle' theme for it and together it seems to work rather well.
