Well, considering the epicness of this, it deserves it's own
I just finished reading the book, I thoroughly enjoyed it, even though it started off slowly, it was AMAZING
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain
Now to watch the movie and miniseries
Any fans of DUNE here?

Yes. Difficult read, but I enjoyed it. Let me know what you think of the videos.

I never finished a book. Good to see ya Eagle. :cheersmate:

I enjoyed the first Dune book, but couldn't get through the rest of the series :lmao:
I think the older version of the movie is better.

Fan here, back in the late 1970,s for Xmas I received the trilogy. I had to read each one 2-3 times to understand the religious aspect, interesting and a mind boggle.
The movie was a disappointment, more time spent on special effects then explaining the culture, beliefs and back story.

I've read the entire series :cheersmate: Far better and deeper than anything Lucas envisioned with Star Wars. Amazingly complex factions, religions, cultures, etc. I'll freely admit that Herbert's writing wasn't particularly good at times, or his son and others... but the story is still phenomenal.

For the most part, yes. But the scene with the navigator folding space with his mind, grabbing the correct fold and letting space go back..........................was awesome...................if cheesy by todays standards.

I need to download this to my Kindle. The cheapest version I've seen is $15. I can probably pick it up cheaper in print, but this sounds tempting.
