Title: Question on Ghostery
Post by: Ballygrl on May 23, 2012, 09:04:44 PM
I downloaded this and it seems to be working, just a question though, for some reason when I'm reading articles and I click on the comments section? the comments section doesn't come up even though there are comments at the article. Any idea how to enable comments to come up?

Thanks!

Oh thanks! I can see comments some places but can't see them everywhere, and I also can't vote in online polls. I think Ghostery is blocking something.

Is there a way we can talk directly. I'd be happy to send you my cell number.

The bottom line is that you will have my number and I will have yours.

If you sweat that, I understand, my email is barksjn@yahoo.com.

I use ghostery Bally. It does have some problems with discus comments. Just click on the pause blocking. That worked for me. You can also click on the little ghost thingy and click options and add the site to your whitelist.

Hope this helps!  :cheersmate:

Many sites record a person's IP address for comments and voting. That way, they can a.) trace back the comment to a user if it is a threat or something bad, & b.) to prevent voting multiple times from a single IP. Sometimes this sucks, especially when a user is on a home, public or private network.

Chrome is too easily compromised. Pretty much anything Google related is easily compromised.

That makes sense, no wonder I couldn't vote in polls either.

Thanks!

IB Perky, it worked! I paused it, refreshed, and was able to read comments, when I was done I clicked I think resume.

Thanks!

Anytime Sweetie!  Glad it worked!  You can add it to your whitelist if you go to the website a lot.  Of course if you do that it pretty much defeats the whole purpose of ghostery. :cheersmate:
