Former "Mole" from the DUmp
« on: December 20, 2010, 04:26:57 PM »
Just wanted to say hello in intro myself. My name is Bill, and for a short time (211 posts) I played "Phil The Cat" in DUmmieland.

"Phil" was a naive Marxist, shooting for the left of EFerrari, Peace Patriot, and Judi Lynn (but never quite succeeding - that's a LOOOOOONNNNNG way left). His specialty was in pointing out the evils of socialism by trumpeting them ("Wouldn't it be wonderful if the government owned EVERYTHING and assigned jobs, housing, and diet?"). His ultimate series of posts had to be those extolling the virtues of the North Korean constitution. This is how I found my way here - where this relatively minor and short-lived character received a "Primitive Of The Year" nomination for that thread.

Alas, "Phil The Cat" was killed by the Little Somoli Boy That Couldn't (bomb a Christmas celebration). I was so frustrated by some of the reactions (particularly ProudDad) that I started breaking character. Next thing I knew, P.T.C. was executed.

Anyhow, it's the real deal for me here. I may say some things people like. I may say some things people hate. Either/or, it is what it is!
Capitalism is based on self-interest and self-esteem; it holds integrity and trustworthiness as cardinal virtues and makes them pay off in the marketplace, thus demanding that men survive by means of virtue, not vices. It is this superlatively moral system that the welfare statists propose to improve upon by means of preventative law, snooping bureaucrats, and the chronic goad of fear.

Actually, it is "Green Cab". Yes, I work for a "green" company. No, we are not enviro whackos - I just like having a lower expense load when filling up the car at the end of the shift!

Our main focus is running cabs with drivers who can speak English and treat our customers with dignity. Seems to be working - revenues (and hence my pay) keep climbing as we become the go-to company for all the major hotels and many other businesses.

Back again to amend my original question.

There's lots of distractions going on here in real life; sorry.

I guess, more specifically, how did you learn you had been nominated for top primitive?

No malicious intent in the question, sir; as you hang around here, you'll see that franksolich is the resident "market researcher," and merely wants to find out how people find out about us.

Good "Old Fashioned" Google! I was looking for the PTC posts and found this site. As a fan of P-J Comix' "DUmmie Funnies" - I was hooked!
