Eduardo Moreno is a California man and train engineer at the Port of Los Angeles who is accused of intentionally derailing his locomotive and trying to crash into the USNS Mercy, a Naval ship brought to San Pedro to help with the fight against the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. The 44-year-old Moreno admitted to running his train at a high rate of speed off the train tracks near the hospital ship, federal authorities said in a press release.

When was the last time you went to Dodgers’ stadium? We might not be able to go again.”

Is it coincidence that we have one ship in LA and one in NYC with most of America in between. Yet neither ship has taken on many patients, yet.

Funny that many of their supplies and personnel were recently transferred from DARPA.

At >65,000 tons, I doubt the Mercy or the comfort could steam up the Mississippi River. As for having few patients so far, the source I've seen for the claim is the NYT. That block-of-salt caveat noted, both will receive patients as the cities of New York and Los Angeles send them. IOW, the city bureaucrats have probably been caught flat-footed.

I believe they are designed to function as mass trauma centers, but have limited facilities for infectious disease.  With that in mind, they cannot take cases directly from the street, since a trauma patient with ChiCom virus would quickly infect everyone.  Cases must come to the ships from existing facilities, having been already screened.

Not sure why the officers in the free shit army can't figure that out...
