I guess I'm just disappointed that so many DUers are falling for this crap.
How obvious can it be what is going on? We've all whined here for seven years that the press is Bush's back pocket, that the corporate media is backing the GOP because it is in their best interest to do so, etc, etc, etc...and now, those same media outlets are blasting messages at us 24/7...all about the racist white woman and the druggie black man.

Is it really that difficult to understand what is happening? Does anyone really think all those old rich white men on the GOP side have NO skeletons in their closets (Rudy's closet notwithstanding...it was hard to ignore, so they gave his peccadilloes two or three hours of coverage about a month ago).

The GOP is in serious, serious trouble, and they have the worst slate of candidates to come along in generations. The mood of the American people is so sour right now that most of the GOP field would lose a race for Dog Catcher. So what is GOP-backed corporate media gonna do? They're going to ignore their own candidates, unless to mention how awesome they are, while telling America that ALL -- all TWO -- of the Democratic candidates are liars, racists, druggies, etc, etc, etc.

Be afraid, America! is the message. Not of terrorists anymore, not of losing your homes or your jobs or your health care...be afraid of uppity white women and druggie black men. They won't even mention Edwards because if they did he'd kick their rich white guys' asses from here 'till Super Tuesday. And they know it.

They know it, and they're terrified of it.

It seems like many DUers have forgotten so many of the things about the GOP and their scummy, hate-filled tactics that we've discussed in well over a million posts. The GOP is backed by the media, the media is backed by the GOP, and therefore the expectation from anyone on DU that Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or John Edwards is going to receive honest coverage is naive and contrary to everything we should have learned after seven years of this bullshit.

One of our candidates WILL win. That is a good thing, if only to give us our own ass-kicking material to use when against the GOP in the next term(s). But make no mistake...this battle in the media won't end in November. The day after the election a whole new ballgame begins, and they'll be even more fierce and riled up than they were before. Remember, it wasn't the American People who called for Bill Clinton's impeachment, it was the GOP losers, fully supported by the media. And they'll try it again. Maybe no impeachment, but they'll be investigations, scandals, the whole nine yards. Rove is NOT home spending time with the family. Those beakers were all destroyed by the lab. He's been home refining their tactics off-the-books, so to speak.

It hasn't even begun to get ugly. There are BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of dollars at stake, a megalomaniac's legacy, an entire industry's fortunes...they're not just going to roll over for us. Stop thinking Hillary is accusing Obama or Obama is accusing Hillary...the MEDIA is taking their cues from the GOP leadership on what non-stories to peddle. The more we buy into it, the better their chances are for ****ing the NEXT administration, too.

We let them get away with it once. We can't let them do it again.

Peace, everybody.

.

Hmmmm.

I see Pedro Picasso's aspiring to be the media analyst and critic among the primitives.

It's about as good as his economic analyses and critiques.

He's way out of his league, even on Skins's island; Pedro Picasso should stick with his "art."

No Toast...it's not the media touting these people..they are who they are...and you and the rest of the Libtards have put your alleged hope in the future of this country in the hands of a "racist white woman and a black druggie".

This is who YOUR party...the Democrat Party...thinks are the best bets to lead the U.S.

Suck on it.

Terrified?  No.  We know that even if we lose this round, it is only part of fair play (dead Dem voters aside) and we can take it like grown-ups.  We also know that Democrat arrogance, incompetence, and corruption will throw away the fruits of any such fleeting victory soon enough.

We survived the only 2 Democratic presidents in the modern era -- and thet gave us the stagflation, the Iran Hostage Crisis and all of modern terrorism -- ending in 9/11.  We can survive the unqualified idiots that are vying for president now.

But we will need to unify more than ever.  Let's keep that in mind.  We don't have a Reagan now, so we need to think about the flag we will rally to.

But at this moment, I don't think the inexperienced muslim, the inexperienced lying bitch, or the inexperienced AND lying lawyer are electable.

We here are so mesmerized by our own difficulties (e.g., no clearly-defined leading presidential candidate), that we're not really paying attention to the even-bloodier, even-more-violent, civil war raging among the Democrats.

This is why I'm personally so laid back and mellow about Republican candidates; what we're going through is nothing compared with the vicious divisiveness happening over there.

Oh my.

Pedro Picasso, the media analyst for the primitives, built a really big campfire with this.

The campfire's still blazing.

I think Rush nailed it today when he called it the "Un-Civil War".  :-)
