Ugh.  Our first Super Bowl may have to deal with this?  Are you serious?   Total suckage.  :thatsright:

Quote
ARLINGTON — If it's possible, security for Super Bowl XLV just got tighter.

During a photo opportunity with the president of China on Wednesday, President Obama said that if his hometown Chicago Bears win the NFC championship game this weekend, he will be coming to the big game at Cowboys Stadium.

"Oh, we're going," the president said. "If the Bears are in the Super Bowl, we're going — no doubt."

That puts local law enforcement agencies on alert. No sitting president has ever been to a Super Bowl.

He won't go even if the Bears make it.  That's my little prediction.

Fred Phelps & folks might not emerge with a pulse if they tried to show up at Cowboys Stadium.

Lets work with that idea:  it kinda reduces their opportunity to sue the shit out of whoever helped them assume room temperature.  :devious:

I don't anticipate too much on my end either.  But, I am still ticked off.  I was listening to this story on the news this morning.  The ramifications of a Presidential visit could really hose up a lot of visitor's arrangements that weekend.  It has the possibility of really messing up other people's plans, that PAID to be here.  That will reflect unkindly as Dallas being a host city.

Now, with that being said, personally I cannot wait until this is all over with, hell, even Troy Aikman is telling me to be on my best behavior.  Farmers Branch has Superbowl flags lining the street.  WTF?

Did you happen to catch the story about Rick's Cabaret?  That is awesome.  They have been planning a new club, directly south of DFW.  It opens this weekend, I believe.  They got all the permits, and everything else they needed.  Now, a couple of weeks before the Superbowl, panic ensues.  Seems people don't want a topless club south of DFW.  They intervened and postponed giving them their liquor license.  No worries, all the paperwork was in order to open, so now they are, as a BYOB, which means FULL Nudity.  I am seriously LOL-ing.

I heard the ESPN guys talking about this the other day, on a couple of Fox News shows..

EVERYONE said it would be a logistical nightmare for the local cops, FBI and Secret Service. I think they were trying to be more polite on ESPN....people on the others just said it was crazy for Obama to even consider trying to go to the Super Bowl.

Both channels were saying how tight security already is for the Super Bowl, especially since 9/11, and for the president to even consider going would make it very difficult for fans.

I think the ONLY thing he could do, if he insists on going, is to sneak him and family into whoever has the most secure skybox, and not let anyone know he is there.

I actually heard that on Mark Davis' show yesterday and was LOL-ing too.  Yeah, I occasionally listen to WBAP via the internet.

Nudity, near the Super Bowl? :ohnoes:

He flew into my neck of the woods for a two-hour stint today.  One of my co-workers decided to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond on Wolf Road, not too far from Albany International Airport.  She was stopped on I-90 for close to an hour.  They (USSS) knocked back all of the cell service in the area, too, and the landlines were out for a stretch.

I mean dang!  I don't know how long the process was to get all the paperwork in order, but you know it wasn't a short term thing.  And, it IS public record.  At zero hour, we wanna pitch a fit?  Lord.  Now, aside from picking up friends, that either worked in a club, or were too drunk to drive, I have never been to one.  Never been in one once.  Don't really care one way or another.  But sheesh, that man was doing everything the proper legal way, and some group wants to throw a wrench in it?   Apparently I heard on Russ Martin this am, that if a club is BYOB, that it also has to be full nude.  Some Texas Law.  Don't know if there is any merit to it though.

I was of the thought that Chicago would win and go to the Bowl but now I'm thinking they got cursed when Big Ears opened his pie hole.

So far ObeyWon's record of everything he endorses turning to shit is unbroken, I think.  Maybe if Da Bears send Ditka to kick Lord Barry's ass, they can get the ****er to recant.

He is.  That's why he's on record supporting Da Bears.  :rotf:
