I won't salute the flag, or stand during the anthem, am I unpatriotic?
   Advertisements [?]

I absolutely refuse to bow my head in public prayer, pledge allegiance to or salute the flag, I won't stand during the national anthem, and I refuse to wear a Chinese made flag lapel pin. Am I less deserving of America's grace? Should I leave it? Just because I don't get teary eyed or goose bumpy at the sight of the flag wafting in the breeze, is there something deeply wrong with me?

Now, when I hear Ray Charles singing 'America the beautiful', I do indeed get all teary-eyed, is there hope for me?

As long as you refuse to share and enjoy the benefits of living here I have no problem with it.
So the first thing you should do DUmbass is get rid of the Internet that this country has made available to you.
If you won`t do that then you are a simpering fool who talks out their ass.

What company you keep though....

4. I am with you
Patriotism and nationalism are two different things.

37. Exactly. the USA is a proven failure. It's only a matter of time before we are taken over.

12. No. You understand that true patriotism has nothing to do with these things.
I gave up the pledge for good decades ago when I began to see it as a holdover from the McCarthy era.

I haven't displayed a flag or sang the anthem since December 2000. I hope to proudly do these things once again after January 2009.

40. I don't do any of those things either.
I've never pretended to be Patriotic. The whole concept of patriotism leaves me cold. The kinder, gentler, supposedly, nationalism.

So of course, I don't find anything wrong with you, lol.

I'm matriotic. I love my planet.

Yet they want to control the seats of power in a country they hate, scary thought.

Other than the rest of the countries in the world.  And by whom?  If hussein wins, we will be taken over by Lithuania.

If I may be so bold...hell yes you're unpatriotic! I'm sure there are quite a few over there who would be the first to stand up for the USSR anthem and salute the Soviet flag.

In other words, you are only patriotic as long as a Democrat is in office.  :redbird: You have no idea what patriotism is!

Look here snapperhead, I had to serve in the military during Clinton's administration and I was just as patriotic then as I am now. Patriotism doesn't depend on who is in the Oval Office! (OK...at least not to people who have a brain.) Being a member of the military, I am not required to say the pledge since I swore my alleigence when I put on this uniform. But if I am in a place where the pledge is being said, you can bet your sorry ass I will recite it. I try my damnedest to make sure my voice is the loudest.

When I hear the National Anthem, I sing it. Even when I am standing at attention and saluting the flag during retreat (For the military impared, "retreat" is the official end of the duty day. The colors are lowered and secured while the National Anthem is played). I have proudly displayed a flag in honor of all who have come before and have insured I can fly that flag. During parades, I stand at attention and salute when the honor guard passes by. Yes, even in civilian clothes I will salute. From Valley Forge to the streets of Baghdad, Men and women have bled and died for that flag, the least I can do is pay respect for their sacrifice.

Before you A-holes get all moist in the crotch, drooling for the USA to be taken over, you forget there are a hell of lot more people like me than there ever will be of you. Come on out to small town Indiana where I live and you'll see what I mean. You'll see enough American flags to make your head explode! Go ahead and exercise you freedom of speech by burning a flag around here. Just don't be surprised if a whole lot of people use their freedom of expression and do an interpretive dance on your f*cking skull!

Yes and you are a DUchebag.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

You're unpatriotic for a couple of dozen reasons. For this one you're just being your usual asshole self.

they are petulant spoiled rotten little children, They will only salute the flag or honor the anthem, or "be proud of my country for the very first time"  if their guy is in power. yes, I'd say that is pretty damn anti-American behavior and not patriotic at all. So goes the ways of the leftist.

Yes.  Try the Socialist paradises of Cuba or Venezuela.  You seem to love them more than your own country.

Ya know, I'd gladly buy a ticked to a nice NASCAR race for phalloscraper just so I could see what happens when he refuses to remove his had for the invocation or National Anthem.  At the very least he'd be taking his teeth home in an envelope, and at the most that's all that would be left of him.
