Quick question, Corporal Carrots... do you know why CD\DVD drive speeds are multiples of 'X'?

Multiples of what a CD can or DVD can process. CD can do 150 KBs so it would be like 16 times faster. I don't I'm not a rocket surgeon.

Also I'm a Colonel. My name says so.

Okay, you answered my question (with or without the help of Google).

Good job, Corporal.

I only looked up the speed for the CDs. I figured out the X a long time ago through the use of common sense.

No way were 8-tracks sold before records.  Nuh uh.
correction, my bad...8 tracks were actually replaced by cassetts, though vinyl outlasted both of them, then cd's replaced all of them. I would say around the mid 80's

Meatloaf not old? He is 70 years old. His album 'Bat out of hell' is one of the best selling albums of all time. It is also one of only two albums that have never fallen off the UK top 200 charts - It has been on it since it was released. He took a 20 year hiatus in between 'Bat out of hell' and 'Bat out of hell II'...

He got his start in Rocky Horror Picture show.

Chris was saying I was old, not Meatloaf(though he is too). Meatloaf did produce 5(?) others I think between the two bat albums.

Oh,,, my error :-)

And yes, you are right he did release albums after 'Bat our of Hell'. They weren't as successful as that and 'Bat out of Hell II'. I heard the songs from the other releases, but thought they were from compilation cd's he did.
