I actually support this because I think it makes some feel better and might encourage some healing. However, I can't help but wonder where the apology to the Indians is and other minorities done wrong in this country.
That's precisely the point. Where does it end?
Do we have to apologize to the Inuits for giving them snowmobiles and creating global warming such that their igloos melt?
Do we have to apologize to the United Mine Workers because in our zest for coal, we've managed to kill 2,746 mine workers due to collapsing tunnels?
Do we have to apologize to the apologists because we can't find enough to apologize for?
This kind of bullshit is designed to do NOTHING but make a certain class of people "feel good." The last time I checked, it isn't the job of the U.S. Congress to make ANY class of people "feel good."
This is straightahead politics at its worst - it does nothing, solves nothing, but some people wind up "feeling good."
