Tea party reports.
« on: April 15, 2009, 05:21:15 PM »
Okay, I'm beat, dragged out, worn out, but it was awesome.

Billed as "America's Smallest Tea Party," and with no advance advertising whatsoever, in a town of circa 1500, 204 showed up to express their opinions.

We just set up a table, a sign, two jugs of iced tea, and sat back, mellow and relaxed, to see what would happen (this is generally my personal modus operendi anyway).

It was all word-of-mouth, and there were 204 during 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

But..but.. the DUmmies said that there were no more than a couple dozen at the parties -- I wonder who is stretching the truth a bit...  :lmao:

I went to the one in Madison this afternoon and we had about 5,000.  In Madison WI.  Of course they came from all over the state but quite a few from Madison also.

I didn't see any idiot keyboard commandos there from the DUmp trying to blend in.

Tea party reports.
« Reply #6 on: April 15, 2009, 06:16:24 PM »
Lets hear some reports.

Me and son went to our small town tea party today. Ponytailed local rag reporter said he counted 260 people there....so I guess that will be the official report. But  he counted the crowd using DUmmie math 1-2-3-4-5 and I used mathematical skills acquired from years of counting moving cattle that are probably a lot more accurate 3-7-10-15-21. I had 346 when I stopped counting and some more came after that. Not bad for 2 pm in a small town that WORKS Wednesday afternoons.

We raised the flag, said the pledge, sang the national anthem, had a prayer and then recognized all the terrorist (vets). Man it was beautiful to have something where you didn't have to worry about all the PC & hurt feelings shit. Although the population is 40% black, there wasn't but 2 black faces in the crowd. I started to adopt one of'em because I know he's going to be disowned by his family ... :-)

There was one heckler there....way in the back of the parking lot, shouted  "OBAMA" once and took a notion to run like hell. One kid, dude, punk...something, in a red "kilt", combat boots, short hair on one side of his head and long hair on the other side with 10 or 15 holes in his head to let the air out looked like he wanted to start something but disappeared before the party was over.....secure the southern border, hell, we need to start at the county line.

The speaker was a Clemson graduate/engineer and X-Tanker. Gave a wonderful speech about current stuff and then went on to draw parallels to past history. Mentioned Churchill, Chamberlian, Hitler, Dunkirk, Washington, The Revolution and some local revolutionary battles history. I guess he either did his homework or someone filled him in on the local history. All in all, a great day.

Ya'll chime in here. Lets hear your report.

Great Frank.

Just think what it would have been with some News Media coverage.....our small town paper wouldn't even run a notice.....but word of mouth got some out anyway.

Here's a little taste of Madison's tea party.  I think this was before it started.  I got there just after it started, I think Paul Ryan was speaking but my camera wasn't working so I had to divert to Walgreens for batteries.

Hi,

My wife and I went to the noon tea party in Tampa, right downtown.  I would say there were close to 1000 or more folks there, way too many to count.  We carried our signs.  Mine said, "Dump Toxic Waste, Fire Congress" and my wife's said "Honor thy father, thy mother and thy CONSTITUTION".  They had a second rally at 5:00 PM, do not know how many folks went.

We too had a 16 year old here, only he was carrying a sign saying, "I'm 16 and I am already a tax slave".  He got a big hand from the crowd.

We had several speakers, the most dynamic was a black talk show host.  He said get your cameras ready, I am an honest-to-goodness black conservative.  He was pretty dynamic.  Our last speaker was dealing with the constitution.  He went through several issues about state and federal rights, the limits of power on the legislative, executive and judicial branches of the government.  What a great talk, it is beyond obvious how the federal government has just absolutely userped their power.

I live in a small town, Lakeland, FL and we decided to go to Tampa because frankly I wanted to go where the bigger crowd would be and get fired up.  Well I just saw the Lakeland tea party on TV and it was HUGE.  Folks here are really fed up.

The local TV station is taking a poll asking if we feel the parties will have any effect on congress and their spending.  Honestly I think not in the short term, but this time next year we will be in the middle of the politicking for mid-term elections.  I would imagine lib senators who are not up for re-election for 4-6 years are breathing a bit easier, hoping this movement will go away and be forgotten by the time they are eligible to get fired.

Had the TV station asked if this will effect the 2010 elections, I would say absolutely.

They would not let them dump a million tea bags on the white house lawn.  Wonder what would happen if a million folks showed up and each threw one over the fence....  I suspect that is in the future.

And finally, I am happy to see these reports.  We cannot rest or let up, we have to continue to force our idiots in Washington to hear us.

regards,
5412

Didn't get to go but on the drive home I was listening to local hosts Dan & Craig on 630AM. Craig, the resident lib, was taking umbrage with the notion these were NOT anti-Obama protests. To underscore his point he started rattling off some slogans he had seen among them, "The Constitution, the other document the never read."

"YES!" I yelled, "I WROTE THAT SLOGAN!" Good thing I was the only one in the car at the time.

I submitted it on the tea party signage website.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Just got back from the Phoenix protest at the Arizona State Capital. The bad news is it was so crowded, I couldn't get close enough to hear any of the speakers. The good news is it was so crowded, I couldn't get close enough to hear any of the speakers. LOL.  :-)

Capital Police estimate the crowd to be somewhere in the 5,000-6,000 range.

I only found one potential DUmmy. I photographed him and will try to post it later.

I ran into someone from work which was kind of awesome because I'm mostly surrounded by moonbats at work. I asked him if he was a fellow right-wing extremist. He said, "Yup. I'm a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!" Awesome.

And I saw Alan Corwin, a big gun-rights advocate. I own his book on Arizona gun laws. I took a pic of him too and will try and post it soon.

Even though I couldn't hear the main event, I had fun walking around looking at everybody's signs. I got a compliment on my sign.

It's encouraging. There's hope for this nation and his name isn't Obama.

Got back from the Minnesota Tax Day party. It was a beautiful night for a revolution! Michelle Bachmann was the ring leader. They estimated that there were 10000 people at the capitol, though I am sure that the media (if they say anything) will estimate the crowd a lot lower.

Funny, not a single member of the media walking around.

And, with all those dangerous right wing extremists, I think I saw the same lone beat cop managing the crowds.

Best sign: "I am a grandpa, not a militia"
