I was actually sickened by Fox News this morning - the DeSantis stunt
In a oneupsmanship move to counter Texas Gov. Abbott, Florida Gov. Ahole flew “illegals” up to near Martha’s Vineyard (Liberal enclave). They ended up on buses and then I saw this. They think these peoples lives are just a part of some game to them.

I saw this on Fox this morning and was sickened by it.
The set up was ha ha ha isn’t DeSantis soooo owning the Libs. They had a crew there with a reporter who basically frightened a young lady getting off the bus. The reporter could speak almost no Spanish. She was clearly surprised by him rushing up to her asking questions she clearly didn’t understand. She certainly was disoriented and unsure what was going on and suddenly there’s this guy asking rapid fire questions.

I flipped over to Fox as I do every once in a while but had to change the channel after that. The whole thing is based on meanness and this was a set up publicity stunt.

Well, they all got their talking points memo this morning, along with the operative word of the day "cruel."  Expect to see that word over and over again.  Also, there will be 50 separate threads about it at the DUmp.   They're all pissed off at twitter, too.

:rotf: Only 2 plane loads? Maybe 200-400 people *? :rotf: When it comes to giving the Vineyarders (and, unfortunately, those there who voted against Brandon) a taste of the medicine they voted to impose on Texas small towns and cities, that's a very tiny dose. Dem-majority cities need frequent doses, samples of the 100s of thousands of illegals with whom they voted (the out-voted excepted, of course) to flood Texas small towns and cities.

On another tack, I'd love for some brave DUer to challenge mal and underpants on why sending illegals to Martha's Vineyard isn't sending them to Paradise and a blessing to the Vineyard's Paradise-dwellers. mal is probably too Prog-sacred to be challenged (too bad Abbott and DeSantis can't send some of those illegals to Jamaica, :-) ).

* I learned a couple minutes ago that they only numbered ~50.

Really? Why is it only the red border states have to be kind and compassionate? Why can't you all be? Afterall, YOU'RE the ones who think there's no border issue and see no problem with all these people coming in illegally. Then you bitch and complain when they're shipped to your areas? You NIMBY pieces of gutter trash. Face it, it's not ABOUT humanity for you clowns; it's about drowning out the red voters in red states. Problem is is it's backfiring ROYALLY. The Texas border areas, which are majority Hispanic American, are flipping red. They're the ones being affected by the crime you idiots are cheering. You're all so damn racist that you think "those brown Americans will welcome those brown illegals" because you see everyone by an identity group. You're all wayyyyyy too shallow to think past that.

Mayra Flores, married to a Hispanic American border agent, just won election in a district that had been Dimrat for 110 years. Checkmate, bitches.

Don't most of those mansions have more bedrooms that people living in them?  Aren't many of them second homes that are empty part of the year?  Sounds like ample wealth that can be distributed to these poor refugees just looking for a better life.

Personally speaking, what I find deeply cruel and inhumane is the promotion of illegal migration and the concomitant encouragement of smuggling gangs. The left (on both sides of the pond) is reducing potential migrants to pawns in their battle to destroy western civilisation; they're more than happy to have people die in dangerous (and unnecessary) journeys, they're perfectly happy for criminal gangs to be empowered just as long as they can wave their arms around and proclaim that this makes them anti-racist.

FEMA also has double wide trailers to setup on their properties if they are short bedrooms.  You can fit quite a few on Obummers 29 acres.

9. News reports

are saying these immigrants are saying they came from Texas not Florida. So Deathsantis seems to be robbing the state's treasury to help Texas

It's real simple, DUmbass. Illegals come in to NM, AZ, and TX, and the Fed jets or buses them to other red states. They've been arriving here from Texas. DeSantis just decided to aid them in their journey to the liberal paradises you all wanted. ...and you're pissed they didn't stay out of your states/areas. Wow, you xenophobic, nationalistic mfers. tsk tsk tsk

Whence the silly "Deathsantis" pejorative? If it's a reference to Covid, FL's per-1M death rate is lower than MI's and NJ's, and only slightly higher than NY's or PA's.

MSNBC's Chris Hayes Proves the Brilliance of Sending Illegals to Democrat Cities (https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/09/15/msnbcs-chris-hayes-proves-the-brilliance-of-sending-illegals-to-democrat-cities-n2613154)

It's always a bit tricky to keep up with the left's talking points because, well, they have no real standards — other than double-standards — underlying their stated beliefs. A prime example of their surface-deep commitment to "social justice" has been the liberal reaction to illegal immigrants showing up in Democrat-run cities. The same people that fill their lawns with "hate has no home here" signs have now become "not in my back yard" activists.

It's been happening in Chicago with Lori Lightfoot, New York with Eric Adams, Washington with Muriel Bowser, and most recently Martha's Vineyard and Vice President Kamala Harris' front yard. In response, even the mainstream media is now scrambling to reset the narrative in order to attack red states who are simply engaged in something the left loves: redistribution.

Instead of wealth being spread around, though, Republicans are sharing the crisis Biden's border policies have created. These supposedly "humane" policies are, of course, the same ones that see the violent monsters who make up drug cartels raping, trafficking, and profiting off of illegal immigrants as a result of Biden's abdication of responsibility for the U.S.-Mexico border.

Enter MSNBC's Chris Hayes who is the new poster child for the mainstream media and left's sudden change of heart about illegal immigrants and the brilliant practice of sending them to Democrat cities in order to make the left feel and see the impact of their actually inhumane open-border policies.

Back in April 2019, Hayes tweeted that it was "hilariously stupid" to think sending illegal immigrants to New York City would be "some kind of brilliant troll or rhetorical checkmake[sic]."

Well, now that Republican leaders are leaning into the idea that Hayes mocked, he's not laughing anymore. Which is because he was wrong with his earlier assertion. As it turns out, the idea of making Democrats confront the impact of their failed, dangerous, and inhumane border policies is, in fact, brilliant — as Hayes now proves.

Now, Hayes says it is "deeply sick and dehumanizing to fling human beings somewhere vindictively." My, how the tables have turned.

County commissioner once said he would 'love' for Martha's Vineyard to be immigrant 'haven' (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/county-commissioner-once-said-he-would-love-marthas-vineyard-immigrant-haven)

Keith Chatinover now opposes how Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent them to the Vineyard

While some Democrats are blasting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for sending migrants to Martha's Vineyard, a county official said less than a year ago that he would "love" to see the area become a home for immigrants.

Keith Chatinover, a progressive county commissioner for Dukes County, Mass., where Martha's Vineyard is located, made the statement in response to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who was pushing a bill for Democrat-led areas like Martha's Vineyard to become ports of entry for processing migrants coming in from the southern border.

"I would love Martha’s Vineyard to become a haven for new immigrants to this country, but Senator Cruz has no idea what he’s talking about regarding a ‘border crisis,'" Chatinover told the MVTimes in October 2021.

Now that migrants have arrived in Martha's Vineyard, not everyone there is so happy about it.

Democratic State Rep. Dylan Fernandes slammed DeSantis, telling MVTimes that he thinks it is "incredibly inhumane that an individual would use human beings — men, women and children" as "political pawns."

Fernandes said that some migrants will likely need to be moved to an "off-Island location" due to limited housing availability at Martha's Vineyard.

Chatinover, meanwhile, remained consistent with his earlier position on welcoming migrants, but he disagreed with how DeSantis went about sending them.

State Rep. Dylan Fernandes on Twitter said the community rallied to help the migrants, putting them up in a local church.

"Our island jumped into action putting together 50 beds, giving everyone a good meal, providing a play area for the children, making sure people have the healthcare and support they need. We are a community that comes together to support immigrants," he wrote on Twitter.

He also shared photos of the makeshift accommodation.

Cyr, speaking with the Martha's Vineyard Times, criticized the move as a cruel political stunt. On Twitter, he said the migrants had arrived on a charter flight from Texas and appeared to be mostly from Venezuela.

Congratulations, you got your photo op and pot shots back at the "evil racists".  What happens to the illegals in two weeks, in a month, in a year?  Why are you only doing this once they show up in your backyard?  Where have you been for the years and years of illegals streaming over our boarder, murdering, getting in drunk driving accidents, selling drugs and children, filling up our schools and emergency rooms?  Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back for pulling out some pocket change (relatively speaking) for a few minutes while the spotlight is on you.

Article couldn't help itself in mentioning that Obama and Clinton spend time in the Vineyard.  Wonder how much they chipped in?

The only thing that pisses you off about this is that now your marxist elites have to show their true selves when confronted with the reality of the situation that proves you have been liars all along.

New York City ‘Nearing Its Breaking Point’ With Influx of Illegal Immigrants From Texas: Mayor

Quote
New York City’s shelter system is close to being overwhelmed by the continued influx of illegal immigrants from Texas, the city’s mayor said on Sept. 14.

“In this new and unforeseen reality, where we expect thousands more to arrive every week going forward, the city’s system is nearing its breaking point,” Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, said in a statement.

New York has recorded over 11,000 illegal immigrants entering its shelter system in the past several months, with others going into the homes of family members or friends. A number have come from Texas, which started bussing asylum seekers who were released by federal authorities to Democrat-run “sanctuary cities” earlier this year.

U.S. authorities tell the illegal immigrants to go to court at a later date for the asylum claims to be adjudicated. Most claims are denied and many immigrants don’t show up at court. Authorities rarely deport illegal immigrants, especially under Biden.

New York City claims they are at a breaking point.

'They're actually thanking him': Telemundo reporter says migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by Ron DeSantis are GRATEFUL to him - and 'other people are saying they're being used as political pawns, but they don't resent it'
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11221287/Telemundo-reporter-says-migrants-flown-Marthas-Vineyard-Ron-DeSantis-glad.html

Quote
Despite the backlash for flying a group of 50 migrants to Martha's Vineyard this week, the immigrants are reportedly grateful to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Telemundo's Cristina Londoño Rooney told MSNBC that while immigration activists claim the migrants have been 'used as pawns' and 'abused' by DeSantis, the group of Venesuelans were actually happy to be brought up north.

'I can tell you, they're not angry at Ron DeSantis,' Rooney said on Thursday after speaking with some of the migrants. 'They are actually thanking him for having brought them to Martha's Vineyard.'

'Other people are saying they're being used as political pawns, but they don't resent it for now,' She added. 'They know they're the lucky ones.'

Although the migrants received a cold welcome in Martha's Vineyard with the city declaring a state of emergency and calling in the Nation Guard to move them, the group eventually reached the Cape Cod military base, where they received shelter and a warm meal.

Telemundo's Cristina Londoño Rooney has interviewed the illegal immigrants and are thankful for Ron DeSantis.

Quote
One of the 50 Venezuelans whisked from Martha's Vineyard to the Joint Base Cape Cod has been filmed expressing delight at eating his local food 'for the first time in three months'.

The unidentified young man, dressed in a gray top and green jacket looked overjoyed, just hours after arriving at the key military establishment.

He spoke after a local Venezuelan restaurant delivered traditional fare of arepas, black beans, rice and plantain to the migrants.

In the video obtained by DailyMail.com, he said: 'We have had three months without Venezuelan food. This is like a blessing. Thank you.'

They are even thankful for eating Venezuelan food, which they have not eaten under socialistic dictatorship. Lot of closed mindedness in Martha's Vineyard.

Quote
Lisa Belcastro, homelessness director of the island, yesterday claimed that the affluent area has a 'housing crisis'.

Speaking after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent two planeloads of migrants to the pretty coastal town, Belcastro claimed that the island cannot support the addition of 50 more people.

Belcastro, who herself lives in a lavish four bed and four bath $3.6million property in a secluded part of the island, is one of the liberal officials who declared it a 'humanitarian emergency' – reacting as they would to a hurricane.

Her claims were backed by Gov. Charlie Baker, who said that Martha's Vineyard, with a population of 15,000, is 'not equipped to provide sustainable accommodation' to the migrants.

Until they actually, you know, showed up. They have enough servants on MV.....and that's exactly how they view these people, as the help. Sharon Osborne is a prime example. Anyone from Florida and Texas can tell you Hispanics are just like us. My God, it should be common f'n knowledge. We just don't like ILLEGAL immigration. Leftists can't differentiate between the Hispanic down the road that's an awesome mechanic or the other one that's an amazing doctor, from an illegal who just crossed the border. They're deliciously showing how racist and NIMBY they truly are. I live in a military town, hell the entire Panhandle is like one gigantic military installation, Eglin, Tyndall, Hurlburt, Pensacola NAS, Panama City Naval Station, Milton where the navy trains helicopter pilots, Duke Field where the 7th SFG is located south of Crestview. There are a TON of Hispanics on the panhandle. It's NOT about "Hispanic"; it's about "ILLEGAL". We know the ****ing difference.

He's on the phone, basically helpless at the moment.  They're trying to let this play-out.  There's no way to control how it will play-out.  NBC just deleted a tweet insinuating the 50-illegals are 'trash'.

El Paso city government buses migrants to New York City

Quote
The charter from El Paso to New York was arranged by the El Paso City-County Office of Emergency Management – one of several the city says it has chartered to transport migrants out of the region.

City officials haven’t responded to questions about how many buses they’ve chartered, or where they’ve gone.

“OEM has sponsored and provided transportation services for migrants out of El Paso, which is reimbursable through (the Federal Emergency Management Agency,” Deputy City Manager Mario D'Agostino said in the email response. “OEM has sponsored charter buses to include a recent transport to New York City, this was the preferred destination for those without any means to travel.”

The federal government has said it will reimburse local governments and non-governmental organizations coping with the migrant influx.

From the illegals' POV - I'm guessing, obviously - NYC, WashDC, Chicago, etc. are farther from the border than a Texas border town, have far greater social resources, and are easier in which to hide and maybe find a job.

In the case of Massachusetts a drivers license as well.

El Paso’s Democrat Mayor Defends Busing Migrants To New York

The Democrat mayor of El Paso defended his city’s policy of busing migrants 2,200 miles northeast to New York City, saying the beleaguered West Texas city is just trying to help them get to their ultimate destination.

Speaking on ABC’s “This Week,” Mayor Oscar Leeser said the migrants are being treated humanely, even though Republican leaders, including Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX), have been criticized by Democrats for exporting them to blue states and liberal cities. Leeser said as many as 2,000 illegal immigrants are flooding into his city daily.

“The people are not coming to El Paso, they’re coming to America,” said Leeser, who served as mayor from 2013-2017 and was re-elected last year. “We don’t send anyone where they don’t want to go. We make sure we help them.

“We put them on buses with food and make sure they get to their destination and make sure that we always continue to greet and treat people like human beings,” he added.

Mayor Oscar Leeser, who is a Democrat, is sending migrants to New York City.

Martha’s Vineyard Newspaper Lists 50 Job Ads Despite Claims of No Work on Island

MARTHA’S VINEYARD, Mass.—While some locals have claimed that the illegal immigrants who arrived on this wealthy island should go elsewhere since there wouldn’t be work for them with the summer rush gone, the local newspaper has listed 50 help wanted ads in a recent issue, and the local supermarket chain has been known to need help all year long.

The classified section of the Vineyard Gazette listed more than 50 jobs in the same issue that ran a story about the illegal aliens, referring to them as “stranded migrants.” The job ads included positions for laborers, custodians, landscapers, bakers, cooks, dishwashers, technicians, library assistant, and several retail positions.

The local YMCA also listed several job openings, including housekeepers, ice arena workers, and a front desk administrator. The spacious Y, located near where the illegal immigrants spent the night at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, shares a complex with Martha’s Vineyard Community Services (MVCS), which also ran a help wanted ad in the paper, including a job for administrative assistant, “bilingual preferred.”

MVCS didn’t respond to a request for comment by press time. The outreach center and the island’s homeless shelter told the media that they didn’t have room for the illegal aliens.

There are job openings in Martha's Vineyard.

Their hypocrisy is getting delicious. You KNOW these attorneys are leftists.

Lawyers for 30 illegals flown to Martha’s Vineyard seek criminal charges against DeSantis for trauma and false promises (https://www.bizpacreview.com/2022/09/19/lawyers-for-30-illegals-flown-to-marthas-vineyard-seek-criminal-charges-against-desantis-for-trauma-and-false-promises-1286756/)

"We came here illegal, was sent by Biden to Florida on an airplane, and DeSantis sent us to Martha's Vineyard. We're oppressed!!

Most of my coworkers in my building are LEGAL immigrants, albeit from eastern Asia. So :hi5: !

Could it be that the Mayor of Ek Paso is tired of illegals trashing his city and depleting its social resources? Resources that should be available to his city's legally present residents?
