Major League Baseball is moving the 2021 All-Star Game and 2021 draft out of Atlanta in response to a new Georgia voting law that critics say unfairly limits access to the ballot box, especially for people of color.
"Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views," MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement. "I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year's All-Star Game and MLB Draft."
The decision follows calls from the White House to consider moving the Midsummer Classic out of Atlanta. President Joe Biden told ESPN on Wednesday that he would "strongly support" pulling the game out of Atlanta because of a law he described as "Jim Crow on steroids."

Baseball lost me last year. I saw a tweet from someone that was blue checked from the Cubs' organization saying something about "don't support the Cubs if you don't support BLM".

Once you cave to the woke, it'll never end. I'm sure some jag-off lib could find a reason to be outraged about absolutely every state or city where the game might end up being held. The purity tests are ridiculous.

Neither would I. Mrs. E and I have invested our time and $$ in minor league baseball, when and where we attend a game in our area. Just as much fun, and a helluva lot cheaper!

Major League Baseball (MLB) commissioner Robert Manfred decided to move the All-Star Game on his own after holding extensive discussions with voting rights groups associated with Lebron James, Stacey Abrams and Rev. Al Sharpton, sources familiar with the move tell Fox News.
Abrams told a senior league official that she wanted him to denounce the Georgia voting rights law, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter. People associated with Sharpton's civil rights organization, and James's voting right group, "More than a Vote" also pressured league officials, according to people with direct knowledge of the matter.
After these conversations, Manfred believed the All Star game would be turned into a political event and players would boycott the game, these people say. Baseball sources say that Abrams’ current stance, that she is disappointed about the Georgia boycott, is suspect because she was among the most prominent political operatives to pressure the league to denounce the new law. James has publicly supported the Georgia boycott.

I heard the analysis. Manfred wanted to "take one for the team." Instead, he looks like he's been cuckolded by a gap-toothed scrunt who's uglier than home-made sin.
OTOH, I haven't watched an all-star game in 50 years. Not watching this one ain't gonna break my heart.

The prominent small business group Job Creators Network is placing a billboard in Manhattan demanding Major League Baseball return its all-star game to Atlanta, saying the decision to move the event unnecessarily hurt black small businesses and amounted to "all strikes & no balls."
The billboard, set to go up Monday near MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred's office, urges viewers to go to a Web site called MLBfail.com where Job Creators Network lays out the economic consequences of the decision to protest Georgia's new election integrity law by moving the all-star game to Colorado.
"Hey Rob, All Strikes & No Balls," the billboard reads. "MLB all-star pullout cost Georgia $100,000,000. Hurting mostly minority-owned small businesses... Move it Back NOW."
A spokesman for MLB did not immediately return a call Saturday seeking comment.
