Syncing iPhone with ubuntu
« on: February 12, 2013, 10:57:37 AM »
I have an iPhone 4. I was wondering the best way to sync my iphone on ubuntu.

I've found some instructions for getting Rhythm Box to recognize my phone but I've not been able to  add songs. I've also tried iTunes via wine but that was a mess.

I'm guessing the next step is to jailbreak my phone. But I would like some experienced advice before I do it, even if the advice is to reinstall Windows.

I'm not a Linux wiz and I'm a n00b on fedora but I do have an Ipod and you post peaked my interest.

What version of ubuntu are you running?

Also, what GUI are you using, I'm on Gnome.

Instead of re-installing Win, run win in a Virtual Machine then you can try to sync with your phone. I have never had much luck with WINE let alone trying to get iTunes to play in Linux. But I never tried this program. PlayOn Linux
