Is there some setting I can use to prevent things from changing my home page? Any download from Malwarebytes or from Microsoft leaves me with a home page of about.com

It's really aggravating.

I had that problem too, where it switched back to the MSN page sometimes.

But for the life of me, despite that this was recent (a few months ago), I can't remember what I did to make it quit.

I know what to do to restore it, but I don't want my wife to have to put up with this crap.

What OS do you run?

I keep my home page on my PC, file:///C:/Netscape/Homepage.htm and specify it to my NETSCAPE 7.2, IE 7.0, and FIREFOX 17.0

I didn't like Firefox (many problems), and I fell back to IE. I remember some anti-virus or other program you could use to prohibit any changes to your home page.

I've never had a application or website change my homepage without asking permission first. It might not be obvious but it still asks.

I just set it to google and be done with it.

I'm familiar with that option but it doesn't show up for Microsoft and some other upgrades.
