Qwiklinx

It's an IE plugin that rides in via html code I suppose.

I also suppose that it is able to silently install, in my case, because I have User Access Control turned off and I am running as administrator.

It shows up in control panel/add remove programs.

The U.K.s Daily Mail site is where it came from for me.

It's not IEs fault, it's mine.

UAC disabled and running as an admin...that's my fault.

That's the only way I run any of my computers.  I must admit, I got good at formatting and re-installing Windows when I first started.   :argh:

One other thing that I think needs mentioning.

If you were to take the number of Windows machines and campare that to all other operating systems connected to the web.

If you were a hackzor who would you target?

I think you Mountain lion folkes are safe for the time being...well except for the 200+ extra apps folded into the OS.

Whatever, just learn the weakness of your OS and adapt to it.
