Collective bargaining - pros and cons?
« on: February 18, 2011, 09:46:03 PM »
For all my time being interested in politics, the issue of collective bargaining never really came up. Back in NJ, I was never part of a union and as such, didn't care about what they wanted. I just knew they were staunchly Democratic (well, the leadership, anyway) and would get violent if their temper tantrums were not appeased.

Now, in my new home state, we all know about the big ruckus with the budget bill. Could some of the more enlightened explain to me what the issues are with collective bargaining, as I know Gov. Walker wants to cut back on the unions' power to do this, but I can't offer much of an explanation to my liberal friends as to why this would be a good thing.

There ain't nothin' quite as bad as being ill-prepared ;)
