My sister sent me that one. I've never heard of it before.
I've done similar, but I never mash them. I'll take new potatoes (red ones), cut into quarters, drizzle olive oil over them, sprinkle garlic powder, salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese over them. Roast in the oven until well browned and fork tender.
I use my cast-iron pot with lid. I haven't had anything stick to that, and cleanup is just wiping it clean with a sponge.
I'm going to be doing this instead of mashed on New Year's Day....heck of a lot easier....
Using aluminum foil on the sheet pan, then the olive oil, saves a fair amount of cleanup.

That looks good. Maybe some cheese melted over top would be even better.
Mebbe so, but the photo didn't depict it.I'm just pointing out the obvious -- if you've ever had to clean up a sheet pan that had potatoes stuck to it. Oil helps, but there is still some residual....
