Pancakes or waffles?
« on: September 28, 2010, 05:24:37 PM »
Both are yummy. But the correct answer is waffles. Like Mitch Hedburg said "waffles are like pancakes with syrup traps". Mmmm!!

Waffles, made with Belgian waffle mix...they are lighter.  Lots of melted butter and hot roasted pecan syrup.  :-)
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

I recently got a Black and Decker waffle/griddle iron, and a box of Krusteze belgian mix... haven't had the chance to make any yet.

Waffles. It has been years since I have had one. Yes I said years.

Me, too, other than the few and far between Eggo waffle.

So glad MOST of y'all answered correctly.

My husband made pancakes for supper last night. I hadn't had any in a while. They were very good, but they were not waffles. We have a waffle maker. I think it is time to pull that sucker back out.

Also, if y'all haven't tried this, try adding brown sugar to your pancakes. It makes it even yummier. I wouldn't think the same with waffles though.

I keep a box of instant waffle mix in a cupboard.  They're not as good as fresh waffles from scratch, but they're pretty good after a six pack or two.

I broke the hinge on my cheap plastic waffle iron after it fell in the sink. :(

Crepes with Nutella filling.
However, if I MUST choose, then Belgian waffles it is.
I think you are mean to make us chose though. :hammer: :rotf:

Had frozen waffles when my niece stayed with her grandma a while ago.  Nasty stuff.

Yeah, I know you're supposed to heat them first.

I can't remember the last time I had either.  I am a bacon/eggs/hashbrowns or grits kind of girl.

I will say pancakes.  My most favorite are buckwheat pancakes, with real butter and molasses.  I haven't had them since I was a kid.

Oh yeah, and bacon on the sid please.

Waffles, non-Belgian! I hate the Belgian waffles with their super deep pits.
Peanut butter and maple syrup on mine, thanks

I use the Krusteze Belgian Waffle mix with my regular waffle maker. If I let the mixed up batter sit for about 10-15 minutes, the batter will rise and make the waffles even lighter. I have just a basic waffle maker...Proctor-Silex maybe. It's white plastic-y exterior, and teflon type inside...makes four waffles and doesn't do anything else. Works just fine.  :-)

You know, you can make mess free bacon on that thing, just put a shallow pan under the drip spout. You can also make awesome grilled cheese sandwiches, way better than you can get from a skillet...

Mine doesn't have switchable insides...it only has the fixed waffle sides.

True. But then again, you have to have some skills before you're accepted in the Army band program.
