Officials accused of cover-up

The story of the ranch near Laredo, Texas, being seized by members of the Los Zetas drug cartel, has been confirmed. The latest updates to the story which broke over the weekend of July 23-25. Kimberly Dvorak, one of the original reporters posted a copy of the police report which has sparked some comments.

The original story quoted multiple anonymous sources in law enforcement and was quickly picked up by Michelle Malkin,  Jawa Report, Big Peace and DBKP among others.  Almost as quickly, the story was branded an Internet  rumor,” “conspiracy theory,” a “hoax” or  outright lies by the usual suspects from the Progressive Left/amnesty crowd.

That same weekend there was a joint operation in south Texas between ICE, Border Patrol and local police.

BROWNSVILLE — A top Zeta lieutenant accused of leading a cell of hit men in Matamoros and Valle Hermoso is now in federal custody in Brownsville after he tried to swim across the Rio Grande on July 24, authorities said.
Arturo Castillo, also known as Oscar Castillo Flores, or “El Apache,” was arrested in Brownsville and remains in the custody of U.S. Marshals.

Law enforcement officials in Mexico said Castillo led a band of hit men on a series of recent border firefights, including the shootout at the Matamoros municipal police station on June 9 in which seven Matamoros municipal police officers were killed.

Nina Pruneda, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman, said Castillo’s capture was the result of a joint operation that included ICE Homeland Security Investigations, U.S. Border Patrol and Brownsville police.

Speculation is the Z's gave up "El Apache" and sat it out in Laredo.  Wonder what they got in exchange.

Someone from the Texas Militia went down and checked it out. Said everything seemed "normal".

Yeah, we can't rely on the media for almost anything!
I believe the militias though. If they say the coast is clear, I believe them. They LOVE our Country while the MSM hate the Country. :bird: (Just like the commies in the White House.)
