It's not the "Democrat" Party
Everytime you see the "Democrat" party, object. Object in a comment or response if it is in an article or a tweet or a post. Object verbally if someone says it to you. If you hear it on TV, object, even if it is just in your living room. Object loudly.
It's the DemocratIC Party. Do not let people outside your party rename it.
When people give you a new name instead of using the one you use, that's bullying. If I am Joe, but people start calling me Joey - that's bullying.

But there are millions that believe in the democratic principles of government. That is why everyone else calls it the "Democratic Party".

I listen to a morning AM show in So Cal that has a conservative and a liberal host. Yesterday the liberal host went off on a rant about the very same thing. Was amusing to hear how triggered and spun up he got and how calmly the conservative host told him how childish he was acting over the matter.
Another phrase we aren't supposed to use is colored people to describe blacks, yet it is used in the name of the NAACP........

Correct, but if it makes them freak out and act embarrassingly, I'm fine with blurring the line.
Though in actual usage, Democrat does slide over into use as an adjective as well, it's much more common to say 'Democrat President (Congressman, Senator, candidate, whatever)' than to add the '-ic' because it makes clear you're talking about the party rather than a political philosophy.

Is this thread topic an annual DU-PoutRage event? Ignoring their hypocrisy - all their cutesy childish nicknames for the R Party - who fricking cares? If I speak to a random American on the street about the "Democrat Party" they will know exactly who I mean. And unlike DUpipo's childish nicknames, I wouldn't be insinuating that the Ds are thugs or repugnant or ... etc..

It was LUNTZ's heyday making himself a Repuke dirt career out of pseudo-scientifically "testing with focus groups" every phrase and slogan for how it would play to the zombies in the world out there. And all the Repuke politicos would use his list of approved words. And he dictated that "Democrat" (noun substituted for an adjective) pushed negative buttons. Probably because of the mangling of grammatical parts of speech (my speculation). So they all started using it. Even the wingnuts who do it now have forgotten where this came from. One wingnut argued with me about this, saying that there was nothing negative in this usage, that he had heard it all his life.
Whenever I read Contract ON America on someone's social media post, I respond
