The parents accused of torturing their children for years in a California house of horrors pleaded not guilty to 75 charges on Thursday afternoon during a brief court appearance.

David, 57, and Louise Turpin, 49, denied the charges not long after they were announced by the Riverside County District Attorney on Thursday. The couple's next court appearance was set for February 23.

The pair were brought into court via a tunnel from the nearby Robert Presley Detention Center where they have been held since being transferred from Perris on Monday morning.

Sick case all around.  :argh:

I read some of the details this morning. They should handcuff the parents in a cell and put fresh baked apple pies in front of them everyday...while only feeding them scraps.

And that's even too good for them. I don't understand how someone could treat another human being like that...much less their own children. Those kids have a rough road ahead of them; but hopefully they find good homes and can recover.

God, give me control of the nation for a week and I swear stuff like this will be a capital offense.

House of Horrors family may have fled Texas when one of their daughters tried to call for help, neighbor explains, giving new details on the state of squalor the couple left one of their Fort Worth homes

The California house of horrors family left their home in Texas just days after one of the 13 tortured siblings escaped in a failed bid for help, a former neighbor claimed.

Davis and Louise Turpin had lived in a home in Fort Worth, Texas from around 1999 to 2010 before leaving it suddenly and moving to Murrieta, California, Nellie Baldwin, a former neighbor who later bought the home told The Mercury News.

The couple apparently lived in that home for a few years - but trashed it so badly, leaving feces on the walls, a rotting bathroom floor, knocked in doors and trash strewn everywhere, that they had to move into a trailer home on the 36-acre property.

This gets more disturbing.  :argh:
