Its a 2001 Chev S-10 v6 pu. Its about 1+ hour drive to work and about the same back home everyday. Depending if I can get away from the rush hour.

I think gas is about 3.93/- 3.98 gal here for regular. Seems to be changing about every other day too.

I paid $3.77 a gallon for premium today.  It would have been $4.17, but my Smith's reward card gave me .40 cents off per gallon.

Man o Pete.  That is crazy.  I can't gripe that much, 45 minutes,  both way at max speed of 35 mph.  I am still at a weekly fill-up, thank the Lord.

Holy crap!  What kind of car do you drive?  How much do you drive??

Damn!

It's not necessarily what, but how much.  I drive nearly 90 miles each day.  In a Jeep that gets barely 20-21 mpg.  I can get 4 days to/from work before I'm on fumes.

Typically a fillup from that point is 17-18 gallons, meaning $70-75 to fill up every four days.

In other news--GOOD NEWS PEOPLE!!!  The price of gas is going down!  0.1 cents per gallon!  Woot!!!!

The price of oil has dropped more than $14 per bbl. just this week, but the price of gas has continued to rise. Must be issues in the distro system again, or in refining, or whatever else.

That cost is not trickling down to the end user, that's for sure.

Unfortunately, I don't think this dip is a very long-lasting one either.

Obama's Scandalous War Against Domestic Oil

Do you remember the terrible things the left was saying about President George W. Bush when gas prices soared under his watch? Yet President Obama, whose policies and actions are actually contributing to rocketing gas prices today, gets the usual mainstream media pass.

Is it that the liberal media exempt Obama from accountability because they're on his team in general? Is it because they think he's blameless in the equation even though they sprang to the unfounded conclusion that Bush was culpable? Or could it be that they aren't critical because they share his bias against conventional energy >>>

During Bush's term, gas prices went down 9 percent, adjusted for inflation. Yet, preposterously, he was excoriated for allegedly colluding with "big oil" to drive up prices. When prices spiked later in his term, he took proactive steps to increase our supply and reduce prices, and they worked. But Obama has taken action to impede conventional energy sources and shove us into alternative ones. Even so, liberals ignore any possible causal links.

Obama told us he would bankrupt the coal industry. He's pushing high-speed rail down our throats despite the lack of public demand for it and our inability to finance it. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said the administration intended to coerce us out of our cars. Energy Secretary Steven Chu said, "Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe."

In view of exploding gas prices, why aren't these statements seen as scandalous? Where are the calls for investigations?

==============================================

Republicans control the House and could push through much of their agenda in the Senate if they stuck together. And since the immaculation of Stinky, gas prices have doubled. So where are the congressional investigations into this Regimes culpability?

Well, it didn't help Bush at all to have been associated with oil as part of his background. He was excoriated, in part, due to that relationship.

AFAIK, Barry doesn't have that relationship with ANY energy -- oil, coal, nuke.

He just wants to tax the shit out of all of it to make the all-powerful government even more powerful.

Everyone is worried about gas....I'm worried about diesel fuel. Most work in this country gets done with diesel fuel....and that will really hit everyone in the wallet.

I'm watching ABC News tonight. George Step-on-my-nose-a-lot was about to wet his panties to announance gas was down a whole penny overnight..."it's great news for the economy".

Should I laugh my ass off at the stupid S.O.B. or reach into the TV and choke the hell out of him?

Vitter slams Obama over drilling comments

Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) slammed President Obama Friday for saying that increased drilling will not solve the country's energy woes.

“It’s absurd that the president keeps simultaneously claiming there’s nothing he can do right now to fight these rising prices at the pump, while pushing retread arguments from the Jimmy Carter era,” Vitter said in a statement Friday.

Vitter, a staunch advocate of increased drilling, called on the Interior Department to issue more permits for offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

"Unless they do, I’m afraid gas prices will continue to rise, our dependence on unpredictable foreign sources of energy will increase and jobs in Louisiana’s energy industry will continue to disappear overseas," Vitter said.

==================================

So disagreeing with Stinky is slamming him now? King Stinky and the Democrat Party with their anti-oil, anti-energy policies are destroying this country by design. Onshore oil shale can be developed in 2 years. Many wells that have been denied re-permitting could be back on line within 6 months. Drilling would create a cascading flood of tax-paying non-government jobs, keep more of our wealth at home, reduce our reliance on an increasingly unstable Middle East, and stabilize affordable gasoline prices and the Stink Bomb knows it!

Most elected republicans know this too. But the GOP leadership is stubbornly in lock step with the Stink master on far too many issues which creates an impassible bottleneck. Therein lies the problem. We must vote this "leadership" out!

Well, well, well, Liberal states in general have higher gas taxes. I wonder why that is?

Illinois set up its gas tax differently than most other states.

The tax is NOT per gallon; it's on the PRICE of a gallon at the pumps. That can be a vast difference. Higher gas prices = more tax dollars for our crooked politicians to piss away.

West Virginia does both. Flat tax on each gallon and a percentage tax, at the wholesale level, of the current price.  :banghead: :banghead:
