Nair is great, it keeps the hair off for at least 2 weeks, and waxing is the same.
I had a private duty patient some where in her late 60's that had because of hormone issues or what ever had lost all hair on her legs and arm pits------She was becoming very sparse down there and her problem was her head.
She still had beautiful hair on her head but her eyebrows and face hair was growing at an alarming rate upper lip and a goatee on her chin. She was even growing hair out her ears that reminded me of my cats.
Once a month I would pack her and wheel chair up and go to a waxing Salon. There she was buffed up, kind of reminded me of Dorthy when she got into the city of OZ.
I would wait for her and when she came out of the back have to admit she looked 10 years younger. All that waxing and getting her hair cut, she paid with a credit card, must have been a small fortune in the 80's. At one point someone in the salon talked her into a bikini wax and a trim. I came back after a weekend off to find her, when I bathed her much different.
Her attitude was different, she felt sexy and alive. She began to exercise more hours of the day, the better she looked the more time she put into it. She had had a stroke you see and had problems walking and moving her arm. This woman was getting her grove on, Her wealthy husband visited just one day and night a week and gave her what he had to do to be legally her heir. No question he had abandoned her, or what ever.
I had to leave my duty due to my daughters difficult pregnancy, but to this day I wonder how Dorithy made out with the other private Nurses when we all knew her husband lived with a mistress one floor down.
Sorry but these life experiences do come back and few are feel good when one works with the public or family.
