Neither does he look like an abuser. What the DUmp is so upset over is the fact that the Palins are a nice, normal family with a strong, independent, loving dad and a strong, independent, loving mom...but they're **gasp** Fundies!! That's just impossible. 
They should have actually read the New Testament instead of depending on those leftist sites...maybe they'd realize the true picture of Christian marriage that way.
You know that's the thing...they're so blinded by their stereotypes that it becomes impossible for them to look at anything in a different light. It's always struck me as kind of odd (or maybe it's some Jungian thing) that people whose personal lives are so chaotic feel the need to sort the entire human race into neat little boxes. Blacks are thus and so, they believe thus and so, they vote thus and so. Change blacks to women, Latinos, gays, "fundies", Republicans...lather, rinse, repeat. They fly into a panic when someone doesn't play by the rules they've decided the world should play by and flail around desperately trying to make him or her fit. When they can't, which let's face it, is most of the time, they react with rage, anger, and hatred.
Sarah Palin doesn't just destroy their idea of what a (successful) woman should be, she rips their little box to shreds. That whole family is anathema to the world view they've created. Normal people, given such a shining example of a happy, healthy family would rethink their prejudices and be inspired by an elegant, strong, accomplished woman. This was the woman I thought we were all told we could be. Now that we have one who just might rise to the most important political office in the world, suddenly we're supposed to ignore all that bra burning Title IX "wimmins" rights stuff that's been shoved down our throats as if it were the mother's milk of the 20th century. Not because Sarah Palin doesn't represent what every woman can become, but because she has the gall to do so while being pro-life and Christian. If she were a dried up old hag, a pseudo-lesbian in a pantsuit (which has somehow evolved into the uniform of Vagina Monologue feminism) who marched her daughter into Planned Parenthood so they could worship on the sacrificial alter of her first grandchild being sucked into a bucket, they'd be drooling all over themselves to make her Jane the Baptist to Obama's messiah. What pathetic little hypocrites.
