Figure I might as well post what few more there are. Can't believe I didn't get a shot of Pamela Gellar! But there's something to be said for a crowd's-eye amateur view. Or so I tell myself. Mainly I was trying to give some idea of its size, but there I must say I didn't get into the main crowd arranged climbing higher into the park, which has a stepped shape.
At the further end of the park there were the usual halal meat foods (kebab. kofta, chicken and rice, lamb, gyros, rice, felafel, that stuff). I have to say I bought from those guys many times when I worked a block and a half away about 11 years ago. I wonder what they thought of the whole thing? I should have asked one or two of them.
It's things like this that make a person, sometimes, despair for humanity. We have a depraved and totalitarian enemy motivated by a hateful political doctrine dressed up as religion, and its name is
Islam,
not Islamic radicalism. But I know I often shared a smile with these vendors. Yet I also know that they probably hate Jews.
Like I said, despair for humanity. The war
has to be fought, but we don't have to like what it forces us to do. Enemies are enemies, and enemies must be destroyed, but I don't enjoy having them.
