Gay teens misled about real prom?
« on: April 05, 2010, 05:17:41 PM »
Quote
Constance McMillen, the Mississippi teen suing her high school over a ban on same-sex couples attending the prom, thought the worst might be over when the school agreed to a private dance to be held off school property. But when she and her date arrived at the Fulton Country Club on Friday night, they found only seven other students.

"She didn't stay very long because of the sparse attendance," Kristy Bennett, her legal counsel, told msnbc.com.

"We've heard there was another event out in the county," said Bennett, legal director for the Mississippi branch of the American Civil Liberties Union.

"We're still trying to get more information," she said, citing a newspaper report last week in which one student was quoted as saying other parties were in the works.

The ACLU is representing McMillen in a lawsuit against the Itawamba County School District and Bennett said that at the very least the sparsely attended dance "will be brought to the court's attention."

In a statement, the ACLU said it was "looking further into whether it was a decoy or sham prom.  ...

A decoy prom!

Good luck with that ACLU.

Good luck with that ACLU.

Question,   who paid for the Prom that was held at the Country Club.?

Question,   who paid for the "Other" prom held out in the country somewhere?

Question,   how many years have schools been going off site to hold Proms, usually the dance is held at the school Gym.?

The internet has storys galore about kids that were refused attendence to their Prom because the girls dresses were too short or the neck line too long.    What--- they had teachers standing outside with tape measures.?

I admit I have never had to handle a Gay child, and no idea of the the differences in parenting , if any, at all.

This young woman is smart, and determined to live her life as she wishes.  She is no different from her hetrosexual classmates that advertise their sexuality by going steady with a boy ---
the old tradition of wearing his ring on a necklace.

As this female she has had no problems since the 8th. grade when she came out, her classmates have no problem with her, nor does the school teachers until now when the Adults decide to cause a ruckas and devide the town.

One frieking night, just a few hours of a dance,  she wants to wear a Tux, so what.?
One freaken dance--so the football team dress in drag, so what.?

At one prom I went to some of the girls that had no date brought their sister or best friend.

What are these people thinking  that  they become angry at any student that does not march in lock step to the 1950 kind of life and style.?

What would have happend had the blond blue eyed Prom Queen come escorted by a strpping young man from Kenya.??????

This only happened because she announced in advance that she would be using the prom to showcase her lesbianism. She is the one who disrupted the prom. If she hadn't done that, there would have never been a problem.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, the school allowed a private prom, which the lesbian girl attended, however, not enough people were there, so she left.  Now, she has heard of other private parties that are going on, and is suing to be allowed to attend those as well.  Is that about right?

She better get used to a long life of bitter disappointment.  And she can't sue for being butt-hurt.

The other parties have already happened, I read somewhere that she knew about one of them but didn't go

Quote
Meanwhile, many more Itawamba AHS students went to an event held at the community center in Evergreen, another community in Itawamba County. McMillen said she knew about that event but that when she asked another student if she was invited, the student told her, “the prom is at the country club.”

“I took that as no,” McMillen said. “If I wasn’t wanted there, I wasn’t going to go.”

I don't think her butt would hurt. She's a carpet muncher, not a male who would get his butt plugged.

So...  Exactly how many other homosexuals was she expecting?  The oft mention lie of "10%" of the school?  More like 2-3%.

Sooo She takes her ACLU lawyer in tow to one of  the proms and expects what exactly to happen? It was a private affair and theres not much she can do about it.Sucks to be her. If she had gone by her lonesome or with her so called date nothing would have happened and the Media wouldn't be looking for ratings and sales for their next big thing.

Yep.  She wanted to receive special treatment to wear a tux which was in violation of the dress code.  Had she worn what was acceptable, there wouldn't have been a problem.  So in her last year she wanted to do an "in your face," and by doing so attracted attention that was, by all rights, undesired by her classmates.  I can't blame them for being mad at her.  They just wanted a simple prom like all the other proms and she had to make it all about her.

Strange how this post makes the most sense to me.    I get so confused on any Gay issue, and when the issue involves kids I simply go back and forth.  I try to sit back and think about how I would feel had I been deprived of my Prom because of a Gay issue. We were so innocent back then, I knew I would get a pinch if I wore Yellow to school on a Thursday and called a Queer, but I had no idea what Queer really meant.

Everything has changed, kids had few RIGHTS in my time. Sex was seldom mentioned in the home, a life long Bachelor or Spinster was just accepted and their sex life never mentioned.

Some of the nicest people I have ever met  in the last 30 years have been gay, however there is little we have in common.  What ever they do sexually is not open for discussion as my sex life is a closed subject.

Sorry but validation of their life style is foreign to me, I do not have any need to justify my sexual needs or desires, to anyone, why do they.?

Very confused at this point on those that find a need to march in parades and demand the right to steal the traditions of others and make them their own.     :fuelfire:

You want to see gay filth on display, you should see the annual parade in SF. I don't have a link to it, but I have saw the site.

Anybody have that link?

That ain't it. It was a photog/journalist site that he had covered the event from previous years. People, and I use the term loosely, were nude in the streets. butt pluggers were plugging butts on street corners. BJ's in every doorway. A regular 21st Sodom and Gormorrah on display. Everything visible. Police were present but didn't stop it.

Are you kidding?  I've seen articles where "those kinds" consider it a badge of honor amongst their own to have an STD, and some of the sicker bastards amongst 'em consider it an "act of love" to pass that STD on to some unsuspecting young queer.
