That the city would even consider letting a mosque be built there is unbelievable to me.

There was a fair amount of anti-Turkish sentiment there. Also, there was more pro-Israel demonstrating hee than I captured. But it was mostly about this mosque. One guy who spoke drove all the way from Florida; he was a terrific speaker and mentioned that, though he has Irish heritage and proudly marches on St. Patrick's Day. he was always an American first. There were many, many people there who lost family and friends in the attack.
Man, compare the normal people here to the, well, when you get down to it freaks at left-wing anything. The police were fantastic; I don't want to detract from their great work, they were very generous in their treatment of the crowd, in fact I'd go so far to say they were unquestionably with us--you know, they didn't make too big a deal about people walking to and fro across different barricades. But they did know they were dealing with people who weren't looking to give them any trouble at all, as opposed to the low-impulse-control moonbats and assorted Dem loons.

I have seen a pizza place, a sandwich place and a burger king in those pics. After the mosque is finished those placs will be pressured (threatened?) to go Halal.

Thanks for posting those pics, strange that I didn't hear 1 thing on the local news about the demonstration at all, of course I could've missed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just ignored.

The Lame Stream Media was silent as usual. Now if had been illegals protesting how bad America treats those that just want to run drugs and kill Americans, well........

Figure I might as well post what few more there are. Can't believe I didn't get a shot of Pamela Gellar! But there's something to be said for a crowd's-eye amateur view. Or so I tell myself. Mainly I was trying to give some idea of its size, but there I must say I didn't get into the main crowd arranged climbing higher into the park, which has a stepped shape.
At the further end of the park there were the usual halal meat foods (kebab. kofta, chicken and rice, lamb,gyros, rice, felafel, that stuff). I have to say I bought from those guys many times when I worked a block and a half away about 11 years ago. I wonder what they thought of the whole thing? I should have asked one or two of them.
It's things like this that make a person, sometimes, despair for humanity. We have a depraved and totalitarian enemy motivated by a hateful political doctrine dressed up as religion, and its name is Islam, not Islamic radicalism. But I know I often shared a smile with these vendors. Yet I also know that they probably hate Jews.
Like I said, despair for humanity. The war has to be fought, but we don't have to like what it forces us to do. Enemies are enemies, and enemies must be destroyed, but I don't enjoy having them.
