D'Backs Hudson done for season
« on: August 10, 2008, 03:59:22 PM »
Quote
PHOENIX -- D-backs second baseman Orlando Hudson had surgery on his dislocated wrist on Saturday night and will be out for the remainder of the season.
D-backs manager Bob Melvin said the bone in Hudson's wrist was put back in place, but he will need further surgery to repair damaged ligaments in the wrist.

The surgery could have been done all at once, Melvin said, but the D-backs wanted to wait for hand specialist Dr. Don Sheridan to work on the ligaments.

Hudson was out last year with another hand injury, dislocated thumb. The D'Backs are barely holding on to 1st place in the west and this is going to hurt. The problems I believe go deeper. The west sucks this season and being in 1st place doesn't mean much. When matched against teams outside of their division the D'Backs have failed to produce.

On the bright side Brandon Webb is poised to win a second Cy Young award if he stays on track, lets hope so. The D'Backs are a young team and it shows at the plate, the bats have been silenced once again.....

GO D'BACKS!

We have not done well against the Braves and last night's game hurt the most. We got lucky considering Reynolds wasn't hurt too bad. But not having Hudson around will be tough. I have faith in Ojeda but it's sad to see the team go through this.

pablo ozuna is available.  or he should be, anyway.  he pretty much gave the game away by screwing up the
toss on a potentially game ending double play, and not getting the back end of the play.  and then he let the
guaranteed third out crawl up his arm, allowing the winning run to score.

this all happened in the bottom of the ninth, of course.
