You know, we often joke about it, but this really is a mental illness driven by the continual and outrageous habit of these animals. They spend their days predicting the invasion of an evil army of Republicans bent on murdering them all and drinking their blood. Their entire existence revolves around gossip, left-wing folklore, and their burning desire to be prophets of their own cult. It's not a joke, they really are the perfect study group for psychiatrics.

Tomorrow marks the 5 year anniversary of the beginning of Covid madness in this household.
3/13/2020.

Spouse came into the bedroom about 600AM in tears.

"I'm going to see if I can take a week off".

She got approval for the week off, and the next day, her organization went to complete work from home.

5 years and we're still masking.

I remember N95 masks were selling for well over $1.00 a piece.

Wiping down groceries.

Buying gallon jugs of alcohol and aloe to make hand sanitizer.

And we're still ****ing masking most times. 5 years later.

I just ordered a quantity of 440 N95 3M Aura masks at $0.20 a piece.

Because ****face is somehow back in office, and God knows what the next public health emergency that kills a few million people will be.

Truth be told, I keep a pair of washable yard working gloves in my vehicle to pump gas with... this was way before Covid.

I also have a package of alcohol wipes in my vehicle. I'll bring some alcohol wipes with me inside a store to wipe down high touch areas on grocery carts. There was a study on public grocery carts compared to public bathroom door knobs years ago and the grocery carts contained way more bacteria.

I don't like touching public high touch areas. It grosses me out.

Where I live, seeing someone these days with a mask on is kinda like spotting Quasimodo wandering around. When you see it, and it's rare, it makes one do a double-take to make sure it was real.

I will still occasionally spot someone walking alone outside with a mask on. To the extent that Covid was, for the most part, a new variant of the common cold that the world has now adjusted to, I can only surmise that anyone who puts on a face diaper that doesn't stop the virus anyway is a mentally ill moron.

I say this having had Covid at least 3 times, none of which were especially pleasant, but which I got over. The experience of losing sense of smell and taste for a week or so was jarring, for sure, but nothing a normal person can't deal with. I was coerced into getting the shot, and TWO of my KNOWN Covid infections came AFTER that useless thing. God knows what else it did to me.

     What all of that really meant is that no one believed in any of that shit. Not really. If it was ebola, or something equally horrifying and fatal, no one would have played along. "Oh, I can be in public if I sit a few feet away from other people? **** THAT: I don't want ebola." Instead, it was a pretend pandemic for which we all ceded way too much power and far too many liberties. Never again.

I'll admit, I'm of a little bit different mind about masking.  My thought is that it's a crying shame that people across the ideological spectrum turned masks into a political tool.  Democrats and moonbats wanting to force everyone to wear one every time they cough is authoritarian and stupid, but there were and are conservative/right leaning folks who blew not wearing a mask into a massive freedom argument that it should not have been from the start when there are legitimate times, places and situations where it's not a bad idea. 

It's been common in Asia since some bird flu outbreaks a long time ago to wear a mask if you are contagious but functional, or if you have medical conditions that make you more susceptible to airborne diseases.  Unfortunately, over here, we've demonized the idea to where, odds are, someone wearing a mask still is likely a moonbat and/or a paranoid hypochondriac. 

The mandates disgusted me, I bought Guy Fawkes and Thin Blue Line masks for when work made me wear them, but it would be nice if folks had the option to protect themselves and others when needed without being marked as a virtue signalling NPC, both by nuttier rightleaning folks and by the NPCs themselves.

Most places I go I see maybe 1% of people with masks, maybe less than 1%. The one exception is where I work. Most people in my building are from Taiwan or China, where masking for various reasons is common. Given that context, I don't think I see more people with masks now than I did in 2018 or 2019 - it's flu/cold/etc. season and people don't want to share whatever they have (how selfish!). Also, the pollens common here in Silicon Valley are different from whatever pollens are common in Taiwan and China, and allergies may be more common or have stronger reactions.

I don't much care about people's reasons for wearing masks. There are all kinds of reasons that are not Covid Panic and I have no need to be mentally critical of someone I know nothing about.

I was pretty much along the same lines of thinking. In the beginning, I don't think any of us knew what to think. After so many decades of the annual media hype about some sort of rare [insert evil name of virus that is going to kill us all here], no one believed them, but when government started telling us the same, I figured, dang this might be serious, better play it safe. Since I frequent medical facilities, boss said one day that we might have to get vaccinated so we can get in and out of the places, so I got myself stabbed early on... and not unlike everyone else, I've had covid at least twice since, maybe more i didn't bother testing after that because why did it matter? If you're sick, freekin stay home like we've always done. Fortunately, I'm young enough where covid wasn't an extreme risk for me. If I were 70, I'd behave accordingly.

No kidding. The only reason I have worn a mask recently was because I had to go to the VA hospital to get seen for the flu and I didn't want anyone else getting it. I am just now getting rid of this flu three weeks later. A woman at my workplace who runs events for the mall said she has been fighting the flu for just as long as I have.

I think the "lab origin theory" is correct. There are indicators that point to the lab, as does Chinese obfuscation and opposition to serious investigation. I think the whole "Plandemic" theory is ludicrous, because: 1.) there are too many uncontrollables for such a scheme to work; 2.) too many thousands or ten of thousands would be in on it for it to be kept secret; what actually happened is easily explained by incompetence and lack of information. China's month or so of withholding and lying about critical information is explainable by nationalistic pride.

Getting to my point, once Covid came to the US, Dem pols immediately politicized it (something I anticipated as January 2020, BTW). Almost amazingly, with the complicity of their MSM shills, they took one direction of attack from January into March (2020) and then some time in March took the opposite direction of attack, all the way into LIEden's MalAdministration.

In January into March, the Dems minimized Covid and acted to undermine Trump's cautions and actions. Multiple Dem pols, including LIEden denounced Trump's shutdown of travel from and to China as racist and xenophobic. Several major cities public health poohbahs - plus Pelosiroo - urged people not to be alarmed, but to carry on with their normal and planned activities.

Then in March and April 2020, Dem pols did a 180, they reversed their attacks. They, contrary to easily found news reports, claimed that Trump had wasted, done nothing, for two months. They falsely claimed Trump had done nothing about PPE or ventilators and had not used the Defense Production Act. Soon after being inaugurated, LIEden lied, claiming Trump had no plan for vaccine distribution.

IOW, what happened in the US was a pattern of opportunists using the Covid epidemic to further their purposes - public health poohbahs to exert and establish their tyrannous powers; Democrats (aided by their MSM shill-liars) to turn US voters against Trump. Sadly and perversely, the latter worked.
