Super Tuesday Voters -- step up and share your intentions
« on: January 29, 2008, 06:27:46 PM »
Including local propositions or what have you.

I live in Los Angeles and have voted absentee for the last 20 years.  So I've already voted.

Here Goes:

Pres: Romney (this was really, really, really, really, really tough).
CA State Props:
91: Yes -- highway funds should stay high funds
92: Hell No -- removing the ability to allocate the budget is what got us unto the mess we are in
93: Hell Yes -- sorry, but anything that eliminates Fabian Nunez is good. I am philosophically opposed to term limits, but if we have them anyway I might as well put them to good use.
94-97: Yes -- let the casinos grow as much as they want.  For the little tribes and the race tracks: Boo freaking hoo

L.A. Prop S: HELL NO.  The Phone Tax has been found unconstitutional and will disappear.  THIS PROP IS A LIE.  It doesn't substitute a lower tax for a higher one. It institutes a new tax to replace the one that is being thrown out.

I voted for Fred in an early ballot, about a week before he bailed.  :banghead:

So when you hear the Arizona results and ask yourself,"Which idiot in Arizona voted for Fred?" That would be me.  :hyper:

If I hadn't been so busy weekend before last, I would have been in your boat.

Man, Fred had it all gift-wrapped.  I feel ripped off.

Romney - It was easier to settle on Romney after Teh Fred! bailed.

Giuliani - would be smart enough to take orders from the conservative base despite his past lapses, but for the general election he carries too much bad baggage.

Huckabee - the epitome of the say-anything-to-get-elected pander bear relying on the gullible caucus

McCain - Good war posture, sucked on immigration, free speech, taxes, SCOTUS nominees

Ron Paul -  :mental:
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Ditto.

I briefly considered calling the elections office and finding out if there was anything I can--scratch the first ballot, vote in person in a provisional ballot, etc.

But then I thought, "What's the freaking point?" Fred was the only candidate I actually wanted to vote for.

All I'm going to do in November is hold my nose and vote for the "R" candidate.

Waste of time unfortunately.

I think many of us are arriving at that same set of conclusions using similar reasoning.  From the beginning, B.F. (Before Fred), I was leaning to Romney (just 1 degree mind you) and nothing has changed.

I was really sort of silently hoping Guliani's strategy would work since that would have forever shut IA and NH out (and up).  But it is clear that ain't happening and I just can't plug my nose enough at this stage to vote for him.

Same here.  I was leaning toward Romney early on (BF).  Once Fred entered the race, it was an easy and obvious choice for me.  I'm back to supporting Romney, even though I think he pales in comparison to the stellar conservative credentials of Thompson.

McCain?  Don't even get me started.

I know enough about all the men on our side and I am just uninspired.. I was hoping Fred would ignite, but now... I just dont have any strong opinions about Romney or McCain. I dislike McCain for some of his voting and his illegal stance.

But if he's the nominee? I guess we can hope he helps us understand his thought processes on some of his voting.
