Reports: Osama bin Laden has been 'located' (Al Arabiya TV)

The Dubai-based satellite TV channel Al Arabiya is reporting that Osama Bin Laden has been “located” by US intelligence in the Kararakoram – a mountain range that spans the borders of Pakistan, the Kashmir and China (K2 is one of its peaks). There was a high-level meeting last week in Doha including General Petraeus, the recently-nominated Commander of US Central Command, and it is reasonable to speculate that – if there is truth to the report – it flows from this piece of intelligence. Whether the latest rumours about the tracking down of OBL have foundation will quickly become apparent. If they do have substance, Al Arabiya will have scored a huge world scoop – and have its rival Al Jazeera spitting nails.

sorry, but color me a pessimist on this one.  if he is there, he will wriggle off the hook, or slip through our fingers, or whatever metaphor of incompetence that you want to make, and then his cousin, Osama Obama will blame it all on Bush-McCain, & etc., & etc.

we oughta leave him out there just for president barry o'bama to have to deal with, along with that GI bill that is going to damage troop retention efforts.

It's so difficult to decide whether to spring it now to affect the Dem nominations, or hold it for the general election...we should rely on Karl's judgment on this one.
I suspect there will be enough drama in it for both races if the scurvy rat-bastard really is in a known area within the Karakoram, since digging him out with anything but a penetrator subsurface tac nuke would be a bit protracted to say the least, and the nuke would require extremely precise location information which is probably beyond the intel we have.
