Dr. Thomas Sowell: "Do Facts Matter?"

Quote
Do Facts Matter?
by Thomas Sowell

Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."

Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.

Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.

The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain-- which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.

-snip-

Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported.

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

Dr. Sowell - as usual - is right on the mark with his assessment.  And as he asks in the above clip, where is the *******ed Republican "counterattack" on this mess?

Thomas Sowell is my hero. He's dead-on with this. Someone needs to give McCain a kick in the rear.

What?  You didn't see McCain's stunning, massively overwhelming ginormous counterattack during the debate?? :fuelfire:

Oh, that's right... :thatsright:
Destroy all that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish

Women and children are precious resources to be protected at all costs.  Men are expendable commodities whose function is to protect those resources, at all costs.

So how does it feel to know that someone's kid in the heart of america has blood on their hands to defend your rights so you can maintain a lifestyle that insults his family's existence?

This is WHY the GOP is losing members. They have ZERO sense about counter-attacks. McCain had the opportunity to tear up Obama during the last debate, but he dropped the ball.
