1. That sounds fabulous to me!

I love, love, love bleu cheese on a burger.

Now, what's this stupid "bleu" stuff?

We all know "bleu" is French for "blue," and used when describing a certain sort of blue cheese of French derivation.

However, it's "blue" on this side of the waters, and only stupid people who want to appear "sophisicated" use "bleu."

Just like when the sparkling husband primitive tries to appear "continental" by using "sorbet" rather than "sherbet."  It's just really stupid.

The primitives of course are just about the last people on the planet who can possibly make any pretensions about being sophisticated.

3. Anything with red meat sounds awful to me

The rest of you can have my share. You can have my share of pork and commercially raised chicken, too.

I have no problem with what's on it, but instead of horseradish m**o it should have been Boar's Head Dijon/m**o/cracked pepper.

Too many pungent flavors for me.

5. Not something I'd order either

Since I've cut back on my meat and eating overall I find that when I need to have a Burger I want a "Pure" one. Great chuck cooked medium rare with a slice of "good" Cheddar, fried onions, tomato, leaf lettuce, ketchup and m**o...Right now that's my idea of a "perfect" burger. Too much stuff...mucks it up.

Now I do like a little horseradish mixed in with the M**o for a sliced beef sandwich.

Blue cheese is something I enjoy in a savory cheesecake, on a plate with some apples or pears or in a salad with romaine, pecans, and some fruit. With Beef....Not so much.

Kudos to the imperious primitive for correctly stating "blue" cheese, but alas two points subtracted for the silly use of "m**o".

M**o is one of those rare words where the French spelling should be used.

Aside :

I always thought there was a difference between sherbet and a sorbet- the former containing milk or cream, the latter containing neither. But, admittedly , that could be a New England colloquialism..

Such a racist sandwich...

The black patty has a white horseradish mayo on top, and surrounded by two white buns (probably with white sesame seeds on it). The other sauces and condiments are all on top, smothering the poor black hamburger. And the bacon...let's not forget about the bacon. The bacon's the worst. The bacon comes from a pig, right? And pig many times signifies cops. Those pigs are keepin' the black patty down! And finally, the cow where that hamberger came from doesn't have a birth certificate. Proof positive that whoever came up with this sandwich is a no-good racist redneck who bitterly clings to his guns and religion and is nothing more than a right-wing mobster wacko.

Do they really think that calling blue cheese "bleu cheese" makes them sound any more intelligent?  I can guarantee that they do not say "Je voudrais un hamburger avec le 'bleu cheese'" in France.  They would be more likely to call it by it's variety, such a Roquefort or Gorgonzola. All the varieties of blue cheese aren't grouped together under one name in France, or at least not as far as I know.  By trying to add a dash of French to their discussion, they are just making themselves look ridiculous.

Nope, you are correct. There really is a difference (and I love them both.  Coconut Sorbet is awesome!)

If I recall correctly Sorbet is a form of ice-cream or iced something. Sherbert is a mixture of Tartaric Acid, Powdered Sugar and Sodium Bicarbonate.

Sounds great to me if the bacon is left off.

Sorbet is often is made from fruit juice and it's consistency is not as smooth or creamy as sherbert.

Red onion marmalade ...think orange marmalade using red onions instead of oranges. It's made with sugar.

When I was a kid ..back in the midst of the last century ( :thatsright:) ....blue cheese was usually spelled as "bleu" cheese. All the different varieties were not as easily available as they are these days.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

"My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I've finished two bags of M&M's and a chocolate cake. I feel better already." – Dave Barry

A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.

Good, good. There are specific words and phrases I avoid on message boards because they tend to confuse the rest of the known world. For example, Since were on frozen treats only the SouthCoast region of Massachusetts and Rhode Island would know what I meant if I referred to drinking a coffee milk cabinet without hitting Google first - just be sure you get your hands on some Autocrat Syrup before making one...   :-)

Not this Yankee - Blue cheese on a burger is as bad as it gets. I don't understand the sudden fascination with it.

It's been a popular add-on for steaks and burgers for a few years, although I don't know why anyone would ruin a good steak with a blob of cheese.  I don't eat the stuff.

Maybe they think that the mold, hopefully containing penicillin will help them cure their STD's. (DUmmy logic)

Obamaburger?  It would have to be nicely browned, and great-looking on the outside, but hollow and full of hot air on the inside.

I bet if you were to get ...uh...friendly with one of the DUmmies, you'd probably think they had.

The obama burger is free to low income customers. The bill is then tripled and sent to some rich guy. People who order something else are also hit with a surcharge to help cover costs for the burger. Anyone who says they do not like the burger are labeled extremists and monitored by the NSA, FBI, CIA, and concerned citizens who think dissent from the obama burger is terrorism.
