Remember, I haven't been around much lately, due to causes beyond my control.

Got my official diagnosis, excepting further revelations of course, from my counselor yesterday.
Drum roll please............
Schizoaffective disorder.
Aint being crazy grand?
Suppose this is anything like that mattress paranoia thing the militant
gigolo-in-training alleges to have?

1. I have schizoaffective disorder
Have they started you on medication? That illness made my life a living hell for ten years and nearly killed me. I take an anti-psychotic and a mood stabilizer to treat it.

3. Tried abilify and numerous other meds.
Nothing has done anything but make me worse so far. I can't afford any either, so there's that.

4. w.o insurance it is a hard illness to get a grip on
but it sounds like ya might have a counselor or therapist..
there is much that can be done just by talking things through and working out coping stategies..
i know two things that always make things better - diet and exercise..
plus humor - I am a firm believer in laughing..comedy..the good life..
it is worth a try...
But what the mdmc primitive, who's running for city council in Newburgh, New York, fails to remember is that the shadowy primitive doesn't want to get well; he's in it just for the social security disability checks, if the shadowy primitive can get them, which the Great Black Father in Washington might not give him.

5. But did you try them with a good doc?
The exact same thing happened to Doug and I finally found a good doc in Los Angeles. He had Doug straight in two weeks. And he's been pretty much okay since.
We couldn't afford that doc or the meds at the time but I raised Cane all over everyone and got some money in to make it happen -- since paid back.
Not every guy with a prescription pad knows how to do this and I have ten years of destruction to our lives to prove it.

6. How am I supposed to find a good doctor with no insurance?
It's all we can do to afford a primary care Dr. and my therapist. Medication or a real psychiatrist isn't an option. I know you mean no offense but I'm sick of the "Why don't you just, or have you tried?" questions. I have almost no options. I take what I can get.
