I get a burning sensation in my

right index finger if I keep my hand on the computer mouse for very long.  I do use a wrist pad, but it doesn't help.  The feeling goes away almost as soon as I move my hand around.  Is this an early sign of carpal tunnel or just putting pressure on a nerve?



How many clicked this thinking it was something else? :-)

I did, assuming you were hungry, as it was near suppertime.

This numbness happens in me too, although in the right-hand little finger, which lays upon the pad while I'm using the computer mouse. 

And yes, it's probably indicative of something not good, so best to keep the fingers moving and resting in as many different positions as is practical.

It doesn't look good.

If I use a mouse too much, I get symptoms similar to arthritis and a slight numbness in my fingers.  That's why I try to use the mouse as little as possible and stick to keying shortcuts.

A long time ago , I had gotten a numbness in the little finger on my left hand from holding paper back books while reading.  I might have to get a different wrist pad or try not using one at all.

My computer desk is right by the TV, all I have to do is turn my head.  Besides, I can't just watch TV, I have to be doing something, anything else.   I think I have some form of ADD.

My last apartment was like that.  I didn't decorate this one the same way and I've been regretting it since 2006.

I could watch TV, listen to music and the radio, and surf the internet all at the same time. It was the holy grail of laziness.

Sea , is this a female thing I was thinking the same thing.

Men seldom get a burning sensation unless it is below the belt.   UNLESS

The dudes are so fat their thighs rub against each other,  they are so fat their arms and pits
cause rashes and pain. This is painfull and a big problem. Not funny.

Then on to the skinny dudes that get that burning sensation when they Pee, or have bugs running about down there.   This can break up marriages and is more painfull then the bugs.  Not funny if you know this Dude very well.

Best thing to do is shave all hair off the body or the bugs will head north.

 Burning sensation on hands is a bad sign, something that has to addressed as soon as possible.

This comes into the world of work related injuries and can be opening a can of snakes.  This can be serious injury and a life changing event.

A feeling of burning in hands or feet is the body's way of letting you know there is something wrong. I say **** the pain pills the doctors give you, demand they find out why this is happening.
