But it still works in IE. Anyone have any ideas what could cause this?
-
I usually have to turn off the firewall to get it to work.

YT works fine for me in Firefox. :clueless: I don't have Windows Firewall turned on. I guess my question would be; "What got changed to make it stop working?"

I keep Firefox and Opera open. I know what works best with what browser. For instance, YouTube works best with Opera. Facebook works best with Firefox. Don't know why. It just does.

I usually stick with IE but I also have Chrome, Opera and Firefox as backups.

A firewall would block it across the board, wouldn't it? I can't think of what would've changed on my computer that would affect Firefox and Chrome, but not IE.

Could that be affecting Firefox and Chrome but not IE?

It seems to be any video website. Just tried to watch this: http://www.todaysbigthing.com/2010/04/09 , but couldn't in Firefox.

I use Firefox almost exclusively on my ancient computers. Everything works fine for me. You might want to open Firefox, goto the tools tab and see if you have any errors in the error console. If so, then let us know of goto the Firefox forum and see if there are any resolutions. My pc parameters are: 1.4 GHz Athlon, 3 GB RAM, 512 MB Geforce 6200 PCI video card. Also, what add-ons do you have added into Firefox, if any ?? Ad blockers would potentially prevent the videos from playing/ showing.

Have you updated the Flash plug-in for Firefox?

Have you updated the Flash plug-in for Firefox?
Funny you should mention this. The problem suddenly started to freeze up my browser and I got a warning message that the video was causing the flash player to run slowly. The weird thing is that it said the player was ancient version 6. I checked and sure enough it was. I don't know why. I have since installed version 10 and everything appears to work now.

The computers at work do not have Flash installed on them. There are some video sites that will not work as a result. Your problem looked similar.
