Create a throw away yahoo/gmail/hotmail account to sign up under and let it be a fake name or someone else you know in your area that will never know about it
Don`t use it for anything else.
Don`t divulge any personal information as far as location in any way as you complete your profile.

Pick a fight with someone trying to make sense too.
You can really get some post counts up and build cred while being subtle about how rw they are.

Opera is a nice alternative browser. I keep it on hand as a tiebreaker when I am having problems with the usual 3.

Possibly but it is just another facade to keep up in the face of being just lunatic enough to fit in.
This is not so much a chance to emerge as a sudden primitive of prominence as it is to become a long term trusted one.
Be careful of using similar terms or phrases there as you do here.
An occasional misspelling is fine and always use "Democratic" when talking about the party.

Depends on how you want to play along. I've created ones that are lesbians, gay atheists, straight. You just have to despise anything right of Chairman Mao.
It used to be easy to rack up a post count in the lounge, just responding in otherwise innocuous threads. Some DUmmies are in the lookout, so beware.

IF, IF I had a mole, and I don't, but if I did, I'd probably start in the lounge and not post political stuff right away. Get your post count up talking about normal stuff. Once you're up to about 800 or so, you can dip your toe into the water. But ya gotta have some cred first.
At least, if I had a mole, that's how I'd do it.

When you report a threat to the SS, don't brag or advertise that here. Let it stay up, so the SS and see it without much effort.
The SS started watching DU back when Bush was president. Most likely DU is being watched like a hawk now.
Read a thread first. Don't just jump in. Go with your gut, you'll know some threads are just not worth commenting on.
At DI you can call them out because there is give and take. And yes there are a few who openly advocate for violence. You can feel it at every lefty site, just under the surface. They all want to kill. It is in their blood. This is the criminal insanity that fills the heart of every socialist.

I stumbled across the DUmp for the first time many many years ago when I was somehow hopping links and the level of insane demanded my intervention.
Not knowing where I was, that account lasted for 1 post. One.
And I didn't even get abrasive, just common sense counter arguments, I don't even remember what it was about.
So yea, wade in real slowly or you'll never get the numbers.

my only other advice is never share your mole's identity - even with us. Several here have operated moles for years. None of us know who has moles, or what they are called - though some have confessed their mole after it had gone down in a blaze of glory. It was also later discovered that some of our moles have actively participated in banning other's moles. It's part of the game.
I continue to neither confirm nor deny any mole on DU - but I will freely admit I have never been banned at DU. How you interpret that is your own business.

My first few moles were shot down for speaking common sense. then I figured out the fine art of moleing. You will never educate the insane. There is no hope for them.
I lost one mole because I got mad at some atheists trashing Christians.

Yes, one mole got DOTY, just one as far as I know. BanTheGOP was actually one of us, GOPCongress. This event pissed some people off, but I found it hilarious.

A bit off the subject but I think that we as moles should request union representation. That way we can enter into contract with skinner and dictate to him how he is to run his litterbox.

Adopt a persona and play it out consistently, including a character story line in your head.
DO NOT try to introduce rationality or facts into a discussion with someone who sounds like they're getting close to a lucid moment, the other sewer rats will smell you out in a heartbeat.
Although some have mentioned 'Over the top,' well, still be careful about laying it on too thick, too fast, and too weird. Make what you say actually plausibly consistent with your chosen persona.

Basically you are just acting a role by creating a mole. Satisfy the target audience there, and a successful intruder can flourish.
