QUESTION: Unions exist to--supposedly--support safe working conditions and work for fair compensation for labor. For the most part there aren't many industrial accidents in an elementary school so presumably the only purpose for school teacher unions is fair wages.
That being said: assuming a COLA was a given what would be the fair salary, benefit and vacation package that would, for all time, embody fairness for teachers...
...OR...
...will there never be a truly "fair wage" because to admit as much renders the union obsolete?
