In case you wondered, red light cameras do take a picture of every vehicle that goes

through the intersection.

A few weeks ago someone ran a red light and hit the car in front of me as they were going through the intersection. I just got off the phone with a police officer verifying my car and tag numbers. He said the camera took a picture of my car driving around the accident right after it happened. The light was still green when I went through, the car that got hit was the first in line. He said I should expect to be charged with a crime and if it were up to him it would be murder.

Right, I should go to prison for driving through a green light.

Yo DUmmie!

First off a car DID run the red light and that's why the camera triggered.
Second off you should STOP at the scene of any accident to render aid and tell the officer what you saw.  IIRC some state will pull your license for NOT stopping at an accidet that you witnessed.

Damn they're not only DUmb they can't even stop and help somebody.

25 years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.  Now we have Obama, no hope and no cash.

Uh-oh they filled him in on the fact that he should have stopped, he very quickly deleted the content of the post.

I guess he's now calling a lawyer.

26. Unethical, immoral, that's for sure... You didn't even call for help?

REALLY? I suspect THAT is what the officer was reacting to--his/her incredulity.

Come on now.

I know it's 4:20, but put down the bong and the 211 and show us the money.

You just got off the phone with a cop, verifying your "tag numbers"?

Didn't you already get run for posting fiction?

Got any evidence?

31. No "bong" don't know what "the 211" is

There isn't a way to give a shit what you believe.

PS Don't reply with what the "211" is, I don't care what your slang means.

I'm surprised. A few DUmmies call out the OP.

I have always been told that the first on the scene of an accident is required by law to stop, at minimum, and to render aid if possible.  I can't find that anywhere, though...except in Germany.   :???:  I could have sworn I learned that from Driver's Ed...not my mom.

This poster is a DUzy...

60. Morality is created by social, philosophy, religion, or one's own mind
So based on that whatever moral expectation there is, is entirely subjective
. The OP may not have any experience in life saving techniques or had some place to be. Whatever his or her choices is his/her right based on his/her definition of morality. Unless he was involved in the accident and took off without accepting responsibility then he/she is breaking the law. If not I still found the OP to be decent guy/gal,

I could not find anything either, but common sense and concern for your fellow human beings would dictate staying and helping if possible.  Oh wait, we were talking about a DUmmie, never mind. I forget how selfish and immoral they truly are.  The OP probably had just bought bought his supply of pot and Cheeto's and didn't want to be around the cops, or he may have outstanding warrants.

That it even HAS to be a law is a sad commentary on the world today.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

I wonder how that DUmmie knew that it wasn't the only aid that may reach the injured in time.  Seriously, this is the sort of person that would step on someone else not out of cruelty, but because they were "in it's way".

What sort of English is this?

Mrs.Smith, That #60 reply sure is a DUzy, isn't it?  Morality is whatever I want it to be.  How convenient and easy.  And very, very typical.  I don't know what I would do if I met such a person face-to-face.  Lock up my valuables and loved ones, I guess.

Is there a "hue and cry" law, i.e. if you witness a crime--particularly felony or worse--you're legally obligated to notify police? The stretchy mentioned the cop would have personally preferred murder charges, that would indicate a fatality, perhaps vehicular or negligient homicide and that would be very grievous indeed.

In the Seinfeld finale, the town was actually called Latham, Massachussets.

H5 for the concept of the reference, though. :-)

Could you just imagine the story this DUmmie would tell if it was HIS car that was hit and some witness drove off? He would be calling for the witness who drove off to be jailed for the rest of their life!

They'd probably be hollering that the witness was a freeper who laughed as he drove off because they saw his "Polar bears for Obama '08" sticker and the driver was an agent of Rove/Cheney/AIPAC.

I witnessed a head on collision once.  On the way home from work after closing the store up.  I pulled over, and immediately checked to see if anyone was injured.  Both parties where ok, just shaken up.  One person was pissed because he just bought his car the day before.  I didn't view the actual impact, I don't remember the reason why.  After I made sure both parties where ok (I don't think anyone had a cell phone on them, this was 8 years ago), I got back in my car and left.  I probably shoulda waited for the cops, but it was getting near midnight and I still had a half hour drive to get home.

I cannot believe that this person just drove around the accident though.  How inhuman do you have to be to watch a car get t-boned hard enough to kill someone, and then just drive around it like it was some minor annoyance.
