My BIL's son was incarcerated last weekend
I won't way "arrested" because he wasn't- he'd walked from a bar in a notorious Texas town (I won't say which town) and was walking to the store for some cigs. Two cops jumped from their car, cuffed him, and took him to jail. At the lockup, as he asked what he was being charged with, six cops surrounded him, stripped him naked, and tazed him. They then denied him water for a period of 36 hours. He was finally fined and released.

The charge? Public Intoxication. He'd had 2 beers while at the bar and was nowhere near a vehicle.

He's just 22 years old.

No moral to the story, no happy ending, no further comments from me other than to say I'm just- sad.

Welcome to the desert of the real.

What!!! They don't have bushes in Texas?

3. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six...
 That's just awful...

What kind of justice is this?

Oh, the poor kid...

It makes me sad too, sweetie...

Only a DUmmy would believe such nonsense.

Of course they will all chime in with better tales of their own. :whatever:

I don't know which is worse, the DUmmie for making up this bouncy or the other DUmmies that believe it.

4. Justice has nothing to do with the Texas legal system.
I should know- I was on jury duty on Monday. The poor sap on the case I was almost on never had a chance, and everyone in the room knew it as soon as he started talking (he was a gypsy biker who was determined to defend himself against a six year old aggravated assault charge after going through 5 lawyers. Need I say more?).

it was on a jury?

If the prisoner was on the jury, didn't the defendant have a chance? Or was he a sheep that went along with the rest?

it was on a jury?

Notice he says "I was almost on".
That would mean it was jury selection and I would doubt that in many places a defendent is allowed to speak during that process.

Well, it said that the biker was defending himself which would mean, here in Texas anyway, that said biker would have been questioning potential jurors and trying to pick his jury.

I don't know if the DUmmie meant Gypsy biker (as in a member of the Gypsy M/C here in Texas) or if it meant gypsy biker (as in just a traveling type).  If it was a Gypsy M/C member and he was in good standing he should have had legal counsel.

I dunno, DUmmies amaze and confuse me.

The OP is nothing more than a lie and it doesn't want to give the town so the records can't be verified.

By the way ... as cool as Texas is .... we still, unfortunately, have the same POTUS as the rest of the nation.  How is this stuff still happening under an 'O' administration, might I ask?

"He had 2 beers while at the bar........." smoked 6 joints, did 2 lines of coke, shared a rock and swallowed 3 ludes, that's all. .... and they arrested him for being drunk. Isn't that horrorible in this post Bush administration.

There, that is more believable in a DUmmie story.

In my reckless youth, a friend was ran a stop sign on his bike.  A cop yelled at him to stop.  He replied with "**** you pig" and kept riding. About 30 feet past that another cop yanked him off his bike and he went to jail...and he hadn't drank anything.

So yeah, there is 90% of the story we are not hearing.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

You have to be pretty bad at walking straight to get a PI after just 2 beers. Being a belligerant idiot at the station is usually proof that yup, you were drunk dude.... and yes we have bushes. Texas has everything except good sports teams these days and really tall mountains, except for the crap mountains near Austin.

It does not understand what you mean I bet.

I was called to the Jury Duty once. It was a huge case, there were thousands of prospective jurors for the case and a thousand did not show and we were told the cops would be looking for those no shows. It was a multiple murder case. Of course I didn't get picked since I am very very predisposed to the death penalty for any and all offenses above jaywalking. =o)

My "number" got drawn once and when I was being questioned the lawyer asked if I would have a problem awarding a large settlement in a malpractice case against an OB for something that supposedly happened on a delivery 20+ years earlier.

I said yes I would and was immediately dismissed and sent home.

You obviously haven't been to west Texas to the Davis mountains.  The McDonald Observatory is somewhere above 7,000' if I remember correctly.  I don't know what you call tall mountains but that is pretty tall to me.  Sure, they aren't the Rockies but .... 7,000' is pretty good!

Well, 2 beers and a few bong hits, a couple hits of ecstasy, Quaaludes with a magic mushroom chaser. He probably wasn't tasered, either...he was probably so polluted out of his mind he tried to stick his finger in a light socket and the police (several of them)  pulled him away because he was flailing around screaming about police brutality. Five minutes later he passed out until the next afternoon.

There is definitely more to this story than the DUmmie is willing to share.

Revealing all the fact wouldn't make for as juicy a story.

Public Intoxication in Texas is a class C misdemeanor...basically a traffic ticket.  It all comes down to a judgement call from the officer...you don't even have to have had a single drink or partake in any intoxicant to be arrested for PI.

While working on the Homeland Security contract at Greyhound in Dallas, I witnessed several people end up in detox for the simple crime of "POP" or pissing off police.  Officer tells you to get a move on and you give him lip...he's gonna take the time to write the paperwork to give you a 12-16 hour timeout.  Many times if you get to detox and are cooperative and go with the program, you just sober up and they don't even issue you a ticket.  Out the door you go with a smile on your face and a spring in your step.

As always, your mileage may vary depending on the locale and how much of an a-hole you act towards the cops

Don't forget the Guadalupe Mountains.

I hiked the Guadalupe Peak trail once.

I'd like to do it again before I die.  The view from the Top of Texas is pretty amazing.

I have not been there but it looks great!  I have been within 80 miles of there and didn't know those mountains were up there.  Next time I ride out to Big Bend I'll have to make a run up north.
